Finding a beautiful vintage or antique item and having the opportunity to give it a new life...
I opened my shop here in the stunning protected village of Tusson, in the sunny Charente region of France where I live. My physical shop is in an ancient logis (small castle) in the centre of the village and I live close by. It houses the remains of a 15th century, huge, fireplace and a 17th century to
wer and is over the road from where Margerite of Angouleme (sister of the French king, Francois1) stayed many centuries ago. It is a very pleasant (very short) commute to work - a tranquil stroll across the square, around the corner to La Boutique Tusson. I have always loved collecting beautiful, old things and now I have 2 good excuses - my two shops! During the summer months here in France, I adore exploring local auctions, brocantes and vide greniers, where people literally empty their attics (and sheds and houses and barns..) to sell what they no longer want. There are often real gems to be found at these sales and I love the excitement of finding an old treasure and giving it a wonderful new life with a new owner, often even in a new country. What a lovely way to spend your time! Another of my favourite things is carrying out research on pieces that are new to me. One of our friends is a brocanteur, very useful, and there are wonderful books to help and,of course, the amazing world wide web! I decided to open my Etsy shop as an extension of La Boutique. I am very excited at being able to share my gorgeous treasures with people all over the world. As I spend lots of time searching for new finds for my shop, I am happy to search for that special something for you. If there is something specific you are looking for please let me know and I will do my best to help. I really hope that you all love looking the things in my shop. Feel free to ask me any questions you may have.
