People often assume professional organisers live in perfect homes with flawless routines…

Absolutely not 😅

What I do have are simple habits and systems that stop life feeling harder than it needs to.

It’s never about perfection, because even professional organisers are human too! It’s about removing friction where you can.

The little things and staying consistent adds up 🤍

Sometimes it’s not that anything is wrong… things just feel flat.

Your home feels uninspiring.
Your routine feels repetitive.
Life feels a little stuck.

That’s often a sign that something small needs to change.

Move the furniture.
Clear one neglected space.
Try a new routine.
Let go of what no longer fits your life now.

You don’t always need a huge reset. Often, one fresh change creates momentum for everything else.

Stagnant doesn’t mean stuck forever 🤍

Some events stay with you long after they’re over, and this was definitely one of them.

Watching my friend walk the catwalk with such strength, courage and determination was incredibly emotional and such a reminder of the power of community, support and people coming together behind one another 🤍

Life can change very quickly, and events like this remind you what really matters, supporting people, celebrating resilience and making memories with those around us.

So proud to have been there cheering her on alongside so many others.

And as always, completely blown away by everything Friends of Anchor continue to do for people and families across the North-East 💛

Craft supplies often hold more than “things”, they hold ideas, hobbies, intentions and projects we meant to start.

That’s why they can feel hard to sort.

The goal isn’t to get rid of creativity. It’s to make space for the supplies you will genuinely use and enjoy now.

And anything no longer right for you could be hugely appreciated by someone else 🤍

Creativity rarely thrives when you’re feeling overwhelmed or feeling mentally full.

Sometimes what we need isn’t more ideas, it’s more space.

Space on the table.
Space in the diary.
Space in the spare room.
Space in our minds.

I often see clients rediscover hobbies, projects and creative parts of themselves once their spaces feel calmer and easier to use.

When life feels crowded, creativity often gets pushed aside.

Sometimes making room physically helps us make room mentally too 🤍

Recently, a wonderful selection of craft supplies donated by some of my amazing clients found a new home with Inverurie Community Craft Project 🤍

A huge thank you to the lovely ladies there who welcomed everything so warmly and will help sort and share the items throughout the community.

This is exactly why I always say letting go of things you no longer need can go on to do so much good elsewhere.

The Inverurie Community Craft Project supports local people in so many ways, donating supplies to fellow crafters who aren’t able to attend groups, as well as hosting craft sessions that bring people together, build confidence and create connection.

There are so many talented people spreading joy through their creations, and it’s wonderful to see a charity like this thriving with such a real sense of community.

One person’s unused supplies can become someone else’s next project, hobby, friendship or fresh start ✨

A lovely reminder that decluttering isn’t just about making space at home sometimes it’s about helping create something special elsewhere.

Some of the best advice I give clients isn’t complicated at all.

Usually it’s small mindset shifts or practical tweaks that make homes feel easier to live in.

If something in your home keeps frustrating you, that’s useful information. It usually means a system needs changed.

Your home doesn’t need to be perfect, it just needs to support your life 🤍

And be honest…. hands up if you’re currently holding onto a Denby dining set that you’ve been saving for best…

At my recent talk in Aboyne, I asked everyone to bring along a mug they’d be happy to donate to a local charity.

That morning, 29 mugs arrived.

And with them came some brilliant (and very relatable) stories…

One had been bought as a gift 15 years ago… and was still sitting in the gift bag.

Another was picked up in Amsterdam airport, bought because it felt like something should be brought home, but never actually used.

It’s such a simple reminder of how things come into our homes… good intentions, quick decisions, “just in case” moments, and then they stay.

But now?

Those mugs can be used, appreciated, and enjoyed by someone else 🤍

What I loved most was hearing a few people say it had already motivated them to go home and look at other kitchen items they no longer use.

That’s how it starts. Not everything at once — just one small decision.

So here’s your gentle nudge…
if you were to pick one item to donate this week, what would it be? ✨
