Hello, everyone. In a few weeks' time, on Tuesday 29th July, we shall be celebrating the 15th birthday of the Knit and Natter group at Accrington Library. We'll meet as usual at 1.30pm with our knitting and crochet (of course) and enjoy some good nibbles as we look forward to the next 15 years. Do come and join us!

Hello, everyone. Here is an announcement about the future of the Accrington Knit and Natter group at the Library. We are changing the format a little to allow me some rest weeks as my health has not been so good over the past few months. The group will function every week as before, but I shall be present only every two weeks. So if you want to see me, I shall be with the group on
18th March
8th April
22nd April
6th May
20th May and so on.
There is a larger gap at the end of March as I shall be away on holiday. You can still meet everyone else at the group in the intervening weeks as the table will be available as usual.

Hello, everyone. Today, 17th December, is our last knit and natter session before Christmas as the library is closed on Tuesday 24th. We'll be back on New Year's Eve, 31st December, then every Tuesday in 2025. Happy Christmas to you all!

09/12/2024

Hello, everyone. Our meetings in December continue on Tuesdays 10th and 17th December, but Accrington Library will be closed on Tuesday Christmas Eve, 24th December, so we shall not be having a Knit and Natter session that day. Our meetings will continue as usual on New Year's Eve, 31st December, and every Tuesday into 2025. I hope to see you then.

I'm sorry to say that the trip to Manchester to see an exhibition has had to be postponed from tomorrow, 17th October, to another date yet to be decided. I've developed a horrid cold this week and even if my nose stops streaming by tomorrow, I'm sure I'll still be coughing and spreading germs. So, wrap up warmly and avoid cold germs, everyone. And I'll speak to you again soon with better news.

Hello, everyone. We are having a day out in Manchester on Thursday 17th October. We shall visit the Art Gallery and Museum to see an exhibition called "Unpicking Couture", showing the development of high fashion in the 20th century. If you'd like to join us, send me a message on here and I'll respond with the details.

31/07/2024

On Tuesday 6th August at our usual knit and natter session at the Library, we shall celebrate 14 years of meeting together each week. There will be cake! Do come and join us, even if you can't knit (and especially if you're nursing a broken wrist). See you there between 1.30pm and 3pm.

Hello, everyone. The Knit and Natter group will not be meeting at the library on Tuesday 25th June. There is to be a special event at the library that day and they need to use the space that we usually occupy round the table. So we are going elsewhere, within walking distance, at the usual time of 1.30pm to 3pm. It's a private house, so if you would like to join us, message me on here to get the details.

Happy knitting and crochet!

Here's my latest cardigan. It's made with Rowan 100% wool in 4-ply. In fact it knits up with size 4mm needles which are mostly used for DK weight yarn, but who's bothered? It makes a lovely fabric, smooth and warm. I used a bit of left-over yarn in pink and white to add a bit of contrast to the blue. Now I'm looking forward to wearing it with a summer dress.

Hello, everyone. This is a reminder that I shall be on holiday next week, so I shall miss seeing you on Tuesday 23rd April. You can still gather round the table as usual from 1.30 to 3pm, but don't get up to mischief! I'll see you on 30th April as usual.

Just a note to say that we shall meet as usual, 1.30 to 3pm, at the library on Tuesday 2nd April. See you there!

Hello, everyone. Here's a photo of a baby jumper knitted as a first project by a new knitter. She's done so well, choosing a garment. It proved to be a good choice, as you can see. Well done!
