Good Morning Pagewatchers,

Just wanted to give a massive shout out to 2 local companies whose services we have used recently at the shop!

Firstly, to Chris at Super Clean for clearing our gutters and cleaning our sign and windows

And

To Ryan at Near Me Locksmiths who helped secure our shop with a wonderful new lock and sorting out our defunct one.

Both lovely gents who were reliable, prompt and provided a top notch service at a great price!!

Thanks guys I will be using you again! 👌

Good Morning Pagewatchers!!

Apologies for being away so long but life has been evolving for me recently.

I sadly lost my father on September 1st. He fought a brave battle against Parkinsons disease for 4 years and he was my absolute hero and role model!

I mention this not for sympathy but to acknowledge that without him The Laundry Basket simply wouldn't exist.

He gave his time to fit out the shop, his advice in self employment, his financial support to get us up and running and he gave me the opportunity to start my own business because he believed in me!

Next year will be our 10 year anniversary and I am so grateful for his belief in me!

Good Morning Pagewatchers,

I hope everybody is well on this beautiful day!

It has come to my attention that I may need to reiterate how we work at The Laundry Basket and why service is not what people would like it to be, at the moment.

We work on a first come, first serve basis. We do not hold slots open and once a day is fully booked I'm afraid it is no longer available. We will always try our best to fit you in but at the moment that is quite difficult.

For the past couple of years it has just been Mark running the shop as I am a carer for my father, who is now on palliative care.

I understand people's frustration at not getting the slot they want, however, we are doing our best in the most difficult of circumstances so please bear with us.

Hello Pagewatchers.

We hope you're all enjoying this beautiful weather!!!

As you're all probably aware that masks are not compulsory as of tomorrow. However, at The Laundry Basket, they will still need to be worn if you are coming into the shop. This is for 2 reasons.

Firstly, I'm no longer working in the shop due to caring for my seriously ill father, who would most certainly die if he contracted Covid. So I will not put him at risk as I want to hold onto him for as long as possible.

Secondly, being self employed if we have to close due to isolation we are not earning any income and the business took a big hit in the first lockdown. We want to protect what we have worked so hard for, for the past 9 years.

We hope you understand our reasons for this decision and we really do look forward to the day when this virus is under control and masks will no longer be necessary.

Hello Pagewatchers,

It's been a while since posting and I thought it's time to explain the absence and the occasional blip in the smooth running of the shop!

There have been some personal issues going on in the background over the last couple of years, for me, and at the beginning of last year everything took a turn for the worse and my attention has been drawn away from the business, leaving Mark to cope with the running of the shop on his own.

A lot of you have commented that you don't see me in the shop anymore and that's because I only do the deliveries now and for the foreseeable future until these issues play out.

My sincere apologies if you have been disappointed with our standards of late but I hope you can understand that Mark is doing his very best while I am caring for members of my family, which, for me, has to take precedent.
