Our lovely bride Lauren came in to collect her beautiful wedding dress, and there is something so special about this part of the bridal journey.

Trying on your actual dress, the one that was made for you, the one you’ll get married in, the one you’ll walk down the aisle wearing, suddenly makes the big day feel that little bit closer.

The excitement, the anticipation, seeing it all come together… it’s such a gorgeous moment and one we feel so lucky to be a part of.

From a surprise proposal in Central Park to saying “I do” overlooking the beautiful Algarve coastline, Lou & Sam’s wedding was every bit as elegant as it was personal.

They married at the incredible Vila Alba Resort in Portugal, somewhere especially meaningful to Lou after spending her childhood holidays there and later living in Portugal after university.

And then there was the dress…

The second dress Lou tried on and the one she instantly knew was the one. Simple and beautifully understated from the front, with buttons, a dramatic train and that incredible statement bow at the back.

Against the Portuguese coastline, it couldn’t have been more perfect.

There’s something incredibly special about reading words like these.

Because for me, bridal has never just been about finding a beautiful dress. It’s about how you feel while you’re finding it.

Feeling comfortable enough to be completely yourself.
Feeling listened to, rather than sold to.
Having the time to work out what you actually love.
And leaving the boutique feeling like the whole experience was something special, whether you found your dress with us or not.

Every now and again, a bride walks through my door who just completely lights up the room and reminds me, all over again, how lucky I am to do what I do. 🤍

Today, that bride was the beautiful Enya.

From the moment she walked in, she was an absolute joy. Genuinely one of those appointments I’ll remember for a very long time, full of laughter, excitement and just the loveliest energy. And then came the dress… and honestly, it could not be more perfect for her!

Enya will be wearing the most incredible gown for her wedding at Gorcott Hall, and I already know she is going to look absolutely breathtaking.

To every bride who has ever recommended us… thank you!

Did you know that Annabel Sarah Bridal doesn’t have a huge marketing budget? We don’t pour endless amounts into social media advertising.

We’re incredibly lucky that we’ve never needed to!

Because we have you!

We have amazing brides who tell their friends, sisters and colleagues, “You need to go there.” And some of the brides who recommend us didn’t even find their dress with us! They simply loved their experience enough to leave a beautiful review or send another bride our way.

That means everything!

Over five years ago, I started this business without a huge pot of money behind me. Just a rather adventurous business plan and a very clear idea of what I wanted bridal shopping to feel like.

Every expectation I had has been exceeded… and then exceeded again.

Because of our brides.

I recently read an article about what makes a successful bridal boutique. The boutiques featured were incredible, large businesses with multiple fitting rooms, big teams and impressive operations — and they absolutely deserve their success!

But it made me think…

Why does bigger have to mean more successful?

Success can look different.

I never dreamed of having the biggest boutique. I dreamed of creating something personal. A luxury space where the boutique is yours, we have time to get to know you, you’re never rushed and luxury is as much about how you feel as the dress you eventually wear.

Half a decade on, you’ve shown me that success doesn’t have to mean becoming the biggest.

Every tag, review, recommendation, share or “You need to book there” might feel small to you…

To an independent business like ours, it’s huge!

So to every bride who has ever said,

“I got my dress from this amazing bridal boutique…”
