Our Meet Our Team series continues by highlighting the people who help drive the continued success of Topglass.

Next is Michael Loy, our Factory Manager. With more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry, Michael leads our production operations and oversees Topglass’s workshop facility.

Having joined Topglass as Fabrication Supervisor, Michael has progressed through the business and played an important role during key periods of growth.

Site update | Ballycastle Shared Education Campus

Progress continues on site at Ballycastle Shared Education Campus where Topglass are delivering Metal Technology Ltd aluminium glazing systems for main contractor Heron Bros.

Alumium curtain walling, windows and doors are now in situ across significant areas of the building. It’s great to see the façade beginning to come together and the quality of the finished installation becoming visible.

Leading our estimating department, Gerard provides valuable guidance on value engineering, building regulations, industry standards, and technical solutions, helping clients achieve the best possible outcomes for their projects. His strong relationships with architects, clients, and manufacturers, combined with his can-do attitude and commitment to finding solutions, make him a valued member of the Topglass team.

Next up is Joanne Etherson, our Assistant Accountant. Joanne has been with Topglass for more than 29 years. Being with the company from the early days right through to today, there's not much Joanne doesn't know about Topglass. She is highly valued right across the business and plays a pivotal role in the day to day operations.

Joanne is a fully qualified Mental Health First Aider and a passionate ambassador for the company’s charity initiatives. Through her own personal fundraising challenge, she helped raise a record-breaking amount for Topglass charity partners.

Next up is Cathy Loughlin, our Buyer. With more than 24 years at Topglass, Cathy has worked across a variety of roles within the business. Cathy brings that wealth of knowledge, experience, and a collaborative approach to her current position.

Alongside managing procurement and supplier coordination, Cathy plays a key role in supporting the people-focused culture at Topglass. As head of the company’s social committee for the past seven years, she leads wellbeing, charity, and social initiatives across the business, while also serving as a qualified first aider and mental health first aider.

With advanced qualifications in façade engineering, building studies, and health & safety, Gary’s technical expertise and practical approach make him a trusted part of the Topglass team.

Behind every Topglass project is a team with decades of experience, technical expertise, and a proven track record of delivery. Through our Meet Our Team series, we’re introducing some of the people whose knowledge and leadership help bring our projects to life.

First up is Hugh McCann MCIOB, our Operations Manager. With over 20 years of industry experience, Hugh has played a key role in the growth of Topglass, overseeing project delivery, operations, innovation, and business development across the UK and Ireland.

His project experience includes Pearse Lyons Distillery, the New Children’s Hospital, Holiday Inn Heathrow, and flagship Primark stores nationwide, with current projects including Ballycastle Shared Education Campus, Omagh Academy, and Hamilton Dock Hotel.

Having progressed through several senior roles since joining Topglass as Contracts Manager, Hugh brings trusted leadership and a wealth of experience to the business.
