Sixpence For Your Shoe - A unique twist on the traditional wedding sixpence

Sixpence For Your Shoe - A unique twist on the traditional wedding sixpence Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue & a Sixpence For Your Shoe! Don't forget that last line of the traditional wedding rhyme!

Something old,
something new,
something borrowed,
something blue...
..and a silver sixpence for
your shoe! Don't forget about the last line of this traditional wedding rhyme and treat yourself to a unique, handmade, embellished, sixpence to adorn your wedding shoes on your big day. By clipping a sixpence to one of your wedding shoes you will be following a tradition that dates back to the Victor

ian era. Traditionally worn by the bride in her shoe, the silver sixpence is said to guarantee newlyweds a long, happy and wealthy marriage. By wearing one of these sixpence shoe clips, you will save yourself the discomfort of having a coin loose inside your shoe during the ceremony (and it will also ensure you won't lose it when you kick your shoes off for dancing later on!)

I have a variety of designs, all of which are available on eBay and Etsy. The designs of crystals and pearls surround one original Queen Elizabeth II sixpence coin. The sixpences range from 1953 to 1967 so it could also be used as your something old and many designs also include blue crystals which could count as your something blue. The sixpence shoe clip comes in a matchbox sized gift box complete with the rhyme on the top and meaning of the sixpence on the bottom. Based in Stevenage, Hertfordshire
