Rebecca and Andrew 🥰 I absolutely loved getting to know these two and telling their love story. And their personal vows, what can I say? For me, they were everything vows should be; heartfelt, personal and genuine with just the right mix of romance and humour. Amazing!!! Wishing you both a lifetime of happiness 😊

I love to meet up in person with my couples before I start to draft their ceremony, if it's possible. Not just for the tea and the chance to meet their family (although anywhere with a dog is a bonus for me!) They will have already filled out a questionnaire so I have a good idea of what they are like as a couple. Meeting with them gives me a chance to discuss the practical parts, to get to know them better and to get a real sense of their ideal ceremony. And when I leave excited and confident that I've "got" the couple and what they want, it's the best feeling 😊

A gentle note: this post mentions terminal illness and bereavement.

On 14th June last year I had the absolute privilege of marrying Matthew and Carrie.
These absolutely beautiful human beings decided to get married after Matthew received the devastating diagnosis of terminal cancer. It wasn't a knee jerk reaction; marria
ge had always been part of their plans. But the prognosis sharpened their focus on what mattered most, here and now.
Together with their family and friends, they created a wedding that was a celebration of life, love and everything that truly matters. Unsurprisingly, there were tears of both sadness and joy.

Things I will always take from that day:

🩷The sheer happiness they found in simply being together.
🩷Their unwavering commitment t face whatever life might bring, side by side.
🩷The importance of family and friends in both the best and hardest of times. Having loved ones involved through readings, candle lighting and handfasting made that visible throughout the ceremony.
🩷 Matthew's absolute determination to walk with Carrie down the aisle - something many of us take for granted.
🩷The extraordinary power of love, not only in times of joy, but in the face of life's greatest challenges.
Sadly, this beautiful couple only had a few months together as a married couple before Matthew passed away.
Matthew died knowing he was deeply loved by his wife, family and friends, and he left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Myself included.

Sending love to Carrie, family and friends on this bittersweet anniversary.

If ever there was a recipe for a cracking wedding, I think Karen and Brian got it spot on. I absolutely loved getting to know them and sharing their story with close family and friends at the stunning Wool Tower in Broughshane. A truly beautiful couple embracing all that life throws their way with love, friendship and humour 🩷

Choosing a name is a big moment. My clever mum gave me a middle name that used both my grandmother's names to honour them and I love the story behind it. A naming ceremony is a lovely way to celebrate your choice - bringing together family and friends to welcome your child, share your hopes for their future and mark the beginning of their story in a really personal and meaningful way. Thinking about a naming ceremony for your little one? Message me to find out more ✨
And how cute was I as a baby btw?!

Please excuse the dodgy dancing! But I thought it was important to celebrate a few things today. Big thanks to my son Hamish for his editing skills!

My gorgeous parents are 58 years married today 🥰 I've always celebrated their anniversary, even as a young girl I remember making them cards and writing poems to mark the day. I think I've always appreciated how special their relationship is, my wee face in the first photo shows that pretty clearly! They have navigated the many ups and downs of their life together with unwavering love, friendship and support for each other. This chapter is particularly tough, especially for mum but she cares for dad with such patience and kindness. A true love that I am very grateful to witness. #

It was a nostalgic trip to the 1980s for two wonderful human beings, Karen and Niall, I even sang a bit of Bros (thankfully it was a small intimate wedding so not too many heard my dulcet tones 😊) Niall was the Bros fan, for Karen it was heavy metal so at the time their paths crossed but they went their own way until a good few years later. They share a love of Fermanagh and The Manor House in particular so this was the ideal place for them to tie the knot. It was so much fun getting to know these two fantastic people and be part of their day. They did their wedding, their way - Karen McGowan .mcgowan.5

Funerals are never easy — but they don’t have to be all sadness, they can still hold moments of comfort, connection, and love. Kind words like this remind me how powerful a thoughtful, personal farewell can be.
