Thank-you to everyone who stopped by yesterday at the in WWT Castle Espie Wetland Centre as part of the festival.

In the morning I shared part of my initial processes working with Liquitex Artist Materials to create backgrounds
In the afternoon I sketched the different viewpoints from the hide and used these sketches as references to create a piece capturing the round-house. .

Thanks to Ards and North Down Borough Council for the opportunity.

The sailing boat & a ghost outline emerged out of the marks made during the session.
The title came straight to my mind, stolen straight from David Gray

Hi!!

After about 8 months of planning the Boom Studios 10x10@10 is open The Gallery Whitehead.

Open invitation to the celebration on the 6th July 6pm to 8pm

The back story to this is long for me, but I am honoured to be exhibiting alongside 10 artists that have worked from Boom Studios including

My 10 pieces are have all been created over the last few years, looking back on the time that I have carved out time to make art.

Making art is hard, but finishing it is even harder. Reaching a point, that includes permission, framing and being organised to meet the deadline is a challenge in itself, so a lot of respect to the 9 other artists.

Last year my art practice was scattered at best… experimental. Lots of pieces started and not many finished! and those that were finished were definitely a dash to the finish line.
