Every year at the British BMX Championships, each region picks a theme for the Regional Parade… usually with a nod to their regional colour.

Over the past 10+ years I’ve had the privilege of working with most of the regions on various Brits designs — but probably none more than the East Region and their unmistakable YELLOW. 💛

This year they’ve gone with a RUBBER DUCK theme… and I reckon it’s going to be a whole lot of fun at the Brits! 🐥😂

I was asked to put together a simple graphic for some regional T-shirts, giving the kids, parents and supporters something to wear and represent the East over the weekend.

So… here’s what we came up with. 👀🐥

Can’t wait to see the YELLOW ARMY out in force and REPPIN’ the East in Manchester in a couple of weeks! 💛🔥

QUACK QUACK… LET’S GO EAST! 🐥

The world has enough people doing just enough.

Whatever you do. Work at it with all your heart.

Not for the algorithm.
Not for the applause.
Not because everyone will notice.

Because you know when you’ve given it everything… and you know when you haven’t.

There are easier ways to work.

Cut the corner.
Use the template.
Settle for “that’ll do.”
Get it out. Get paid. Move on.

But some of us just aren’t wired that way.
We obsess over the detail nobody else will notice.
We move something 2mm and somehow it matters.
We start again when what we’ve created is perfectly acceptable… but we know it could be better.

Sometimes that’s a curse. 😂

But I think it’s also where the good stuff comes from.

Whatever you do — design, build, teach, lead, create, serve, parent, run a business — work at it with all your heart.

The world has enough “that’ll do.”

Make something you’re proud to put your name to.

I had a Gramps.

A Gramps who, although no longer with us, remains a hero and an icon to everyone who was blessed enough to call him theirs.

Now it’s my turn.

The shoes he left behind will never truly fit, and I’ll never fill them. But I’ll give everything I have to be to Nora Maeve what he was to me—a constant source of love, encouragement, wisdom and strength.

When Nora arrived, I was given the greatest title I’ve ever received: Gramps. So, for a bit of fun, I decided to turn that title into a brand. Right now it’s just for giggles... or maybe it’ll become something more.

Either way, every time I see the logo, it’ll remind me of the man who inspired it, and the little girl who gave it to me.

Gramps® — Inspired By Yesterday. Made For Tomorrow.

There’s something satisfying about stripping a design back to the essentials and letting simplicity do the talking.

Over the years I’ve had the privilege of working closely with Pure Bicycles, helping shape visuals that reflect the identity of the brand both on and off track. One of the defining elements of Pure has always been minimalism — clean lines, understated graphics and a design language that feels timeless rather than overworked.

The new V7 decals continue that philosophy. Subtle, refined and purposeful. No unnecessary noise… just simple, clean graphics designed to complement the bike rather than overpower it.

It’s always a pleasure working with brands that trust the process and understand that sometimes less really does say more.

There’s something special about seeing a logo move beyond the screen and into the real world — especially when it carries real meaning behind it.

This project was a little different. A good friend asked me to create a logo for an investment company, named in memory of a much-loved basset hound. It wasn’t just about creating something that looked right — it had to feel right too.

Starting from a simple vector concept, the aim was to keep the design clean, characterful and instantly recognisable — something that would hold its own across digital and physical applications. Seeing it now applied to a BMX race helmet brings that to life in a whole new way.

It’s always a privilege to work on projects that carry a personal story. Thanks for trusting me with it — and for letting that story live on through the brand.
