This one was special 🪡✨💕
Kailey came to me before Christmas 2025, with her beautiful silk taffeta gown from and a very clear vision of the look she wanted.
Soooo much work went into this gown;
Firstly, Kailey wanted to really show off her figure with a snatched waist and also wanted to rework the neckline to a cat eye finish. This meant lifting the appliqué & working the bodice back together with the new silhouette 🪡✨
We came across an issue with the fit of the torso being too long- which led to shortening the bodice by adding a waist seam, slightly nerve wracking cutting a dress in half 🙈 but was so worth it for the perfect fit.
We also shaped the hips and bum area to ensure ease within the dress for sitting down and dancing while also really flattering Kailey’s gorgeous figure.
Secondly, Kailey wanted a show stopping overskirt, I think words used were “huge” “extra” and “puffy” 🤣
We sourced matching silk taffeta, cut a large overskirt and added lots of netting for volume with minimal weight. This meant the skirt could be detachable for 2 different looks throughout the day. Finally, buttons were applied through the centre back seam.
Thirdly, I created a custom veil. Kailey wanted a short, glamorous veil which complemented the rest of the gown with out overpowering it 💕✨
This has to be one of my favourite ever projects! It’s difficult to express how much work went into the gown but seeing Kailey’s face light up at fittings and then receiving the most amazing pictures of her big day has been the best!!
