At last I am able to post my finished repurposed vintage linen tablecloth 1960’s two piece dress and coat.
I am so happy with the result!
Since posting my initial post about making it, I had to source a suitable / similar plain linen tablecloth which took a while and then; as always, it took me a while to make because of my arthritic hands.
However; now finished with my ”always” french seams, vintage mother of Pearl buttons and loads of hand sewing.
I’ve slightly changed the dress pattern as I didn’t like the fitted design on me so I’ve “rejigged” the pattern and made a slip dress with bust darts and then pleats on the shoulders front and back with tiny vintage mother of Pearl buttons to finish prettily.
As always I’ve hand embroidered my signature handmade label by “Lindsey”
I hope you love it as much as I do! Just waiting for some lovely spring sunny weather to wear it 💞

Well another drop sleeved repurposed vintage tablecloth blouse is finally finished and; as promised here are the photo’s.
I absolutely love it.
It is my own pattern and I’ve used vintage lace and vintage mother of pearl buttons, handmade buttonholes and lots of hand sewing for a beautiful finish.
I’ve taken photo’s inside out as well so you can see that with the french seams and hand finish; you could wear it inside out 🤣

This is my next project all cut out ready.
A beautiful vintage dress and coat pattern I am making from a lovely vintage tablecloth.
The tablecloth has a beautiful bold embroidery which I have positioned front and back of the dress and; on the armholes. I will use plain linen for the remainder of the jacket.
I may add some vintage lace somewhere depending on how I think it will look from my collection of vintage laces. The pattern does show that lace can be added but I’m not sure yet.
I will then be finishing off with handmade buttonholes (as always) and mother of Pearl buttons.
As always I shall make with french seams and I guess there will be a lot of hand sewing, as it’s how I like to finish. So as I’ve said before, 🙊my sewing is always exquisitely made and could be worn inside out🥰.
This dress is a vintage 18 but I bet by today sizes it’s probably a size 8/10 🙈🤣.
I’ll post the final garment once completely finished.

Another beautiful blouse nearly finished. I am really loving this vintage tablecloth embroidery and how it’s turned out on the shirt.
I have added some vintage lace which I found in my late great aunts treadle sewing machine, so it is very special. I will be finishing off with handmade buttonholes (as always) and mother of Pearl buttons.
My blouses are all made with french seams and a lot of hand sewing, so although I say so myself 🙊they are exquisitely made and could be worn inside out🥰.
This blouse would fit a size 8-12 as do most of my blouses.
I’ll post the final garment once completely finished.

Beautiful handmade nightshirt from vintage cotton bedlinen.
Suitable up to size 12.
Made with vintage buttons and handmade buttonholes and french seams.
I have a couple and they are fabulously comfortable and cosy to smooch around in and sleep in.

Well I finally finished this blouse made from a vintage crisp linen embroidered tablecloth and vintage mother of Pearl buttons.
It is lovingly hand made with french seams and hand sewn button holes and loads of other hand sewn parts.
A total labour of love!
I’ve been a bit lapse with my sewing recently due to the cold weather playing havoc on my arthritis but now hoping it’s getting warmer so I can “crack on”….🙊

Hello everyone 💞
So after a bit of a break I’m starting to get back to my sewing 🥰
Had this blouse partly finished for a while so this is my first item to complete.
I then have a couple of night shirt’s to finish, a bag to finish, a baby romper commission & lots of idea’s for new item’s from baby/children’s clothes, apron’s, dresses, bloomer’s and…..open to any bespoke requests.

Just thought I’d post (now the surprise for my niece has been revealed🥰) a Harry Potter Book Bag and presentation box that I made as a Christmas present.
It’s a family tradition to make one for each of my Harry Potter mad family “girlies” and boy!
I have also made them as presents for friends …..but also make them as bespoke orders……doesn’t have to be Harry Potter books as will make them with Jane Austen, Brontë, Dickens etc etc….
