My beautiful daughter modelling her Bandana that I crocheted for her using the wonderful Shetland 2ply yarn, that we purchased on our trip to Shetland last year. Undyed & just as nature intended.

The first British wool I am going to use is Retreat Chunky Roving Yarn by

This luxurious yarn has all the great natural qualities of roving. With a delicate twist and gentle halo ideal for creating beautiful knitting and crochet.

Made with 100% British Bluefaced Kerry Hill fleece (a cross-breed of Bluefaced Leicester).

Retreat Chunky Roving was developed with wellbeing in mind. Spun with skill and care to offer a wool that is soft, silky and a treat to wear.

A real pleasure to craft with, this yarn is available in gloriously uplifting, gentle and harmonious shades.

For every ball of Retreat Chunky Roving sold, West Yorkshire Spinners makes a donation to the mental-health charity Mind.

Did you know much of British wool goes unused each year?

Sheep must be shorn for their welfare — but sadly, the wool is often undervalued in a world dominated by synthetic fibres.

Yet wool is:
• biodegradable
• breathable
• incredibly durable
• naturally insulating
• renewable

Choosing natural fibres is a small shift that supports farmers, reduces microplastics, and brings us back to materials designed by nature.

I’m interested in meaningful making. Supporting British Farmers & making a difference.

And this is just the beginning for Rhubarb & Crochet 🤍
