This is the start of something we’ll be building out properly.

A new ongoing series from AGAINSTALLODDS, showcasing the fighters we work with, the people around them, the sponsors backing them, and the fight week tees we create for the occasion.

For this first issue, we’re documenting Tom Welland’s fight week, the team, the belt, the sponsors, the moments after the final bell, and the tee made to mark it.

Boxing has always been about more than the fighter walking to the ring. It’s the camp, the corner, the people who believe early, and the brands that help make it happen.

This series is our way of putting all of that into one place.

Sometimes it’s a local track, a pair of hand wraps, and a few lads putting the work in when nobody’s really watching.

Boxing has always been bigger than the ring.

It’s discipline.
It’s community.

It’s having somewhere to put your pain, your pressure, your ambition.

A stage built on history, spectacle and grandeur.

But before the lights, before the arenas, before the world is watching, boxing often starts somewhere much closer to home.

On estates.
In small gyms.
On concrete.
In places people are told not to expect too much from.

That’s the part we wanted to pay homage to.

Riley Square, Coventry.

Not chosen because it looks perfect.
Chosen because it feels real.

Because for so many fighters, dreamers and people trying to change their life, the story doesn’t begin in luxury.
It begins in places like this.

Ordinary ground.
Uncommon stories.

Who would love to see an event staged at the very beginning of many fighters journeys? The heart of a council estate, the place that inspires so many great stories, the places that represents so many.
