👕 HOW TO LOOK AFTER YOUR PRINTED CLOTHING
We often get asked how long DTF and vinyl prints should last.
The honest answer is that there isn’t one fixed lifespan. We’ve had customers whose prints have stayed looking great for years, while others have seen wear much sooner.
The quality of the print and application matters, but how the garment is washed and dried afterwards can make a big difference too.
Here’s how we recommend looking after your printed clothing:
🧺 TURN IT INSIDE OUT
This helps reduce friction between the print and other garments, zips and the washing machine.
🌡️ WASH AT 30°C
We recommend keeping your wash at 30°C. There’s no need for high temperatures when caring for printed clothing.
🧴 USE A MILD LIQUID DETERGENT
A small amount is all you need. We recommend a mild non-bio liquid detergent and avoiding bleach or harsh chemical additives.
🚫 SKIP THE FABRIC CONDITIONER
You don’t need fabric conditioner to look after printed clothing.
🔥 AVOID EXCESSIVE HEAT
Air drying is the safest option. If you tumble dry, use a low/delicate setting where the garment’s care label allows it.
🚫 DON’T IRON DIRECTLY OVER THE PRINT
If you need to iron the garment, turn it inside out or protect the design and avoid direct heat on the print.
⏰ WAIT BEFORE THE FIRST WASH
Give a newly printed garment at least 24 hours before washing.
WHAT DO WE DO WITH OUR OWN CLOTHING?
Our usual routine is simple:
30°C • Quick wash • 800 spin • Small amount of non-bio liquid detergent
We don’t use washing powder and we don’t use fabric conditioner.
That’s what works for us, but always check the care label on the garment and any specific care instructions supplied with your print.
A properly applied DTF or vinyl print can be extremely durable, but no print is completely immune to heat, friction and harsh chemicals.
