The vast majority of our customers have already used NUK single-use teats in the hospital setting, and come to us because they wish to continue using this excellent product at home.
Recently, I've had a couple of calls regarding the 'cuts' in the side of every NUK single-use teat available via our shop.
Let me explain......
The cuts are a design feature unique to NUK. This feature is known as the NUK Anti-Colic Air System.
As baby draws milk from a bottle, a vacuum will form inside the bottle, making it progressively harder to suck. With conventional teats and bottles, mum (or dad) will periodically remove the teat from baby's mouth to allow air back in. This NUK system allows air into the bottle through the side of the teat during feeding, equalising the air pressure 'on-the-fly', negating the need to take the bottle out of baby's mouth mid-feed which can unsettle baby.
These side vents are not 'faults' or 'splits'. They are not an indication of a 'counterfeit' product. They are there because they are supposed to be there and were created during NUK's manufacturing process in NUK's dedicated production facility.
The teats available through our shop are exactly the same product, from the same source, as supplied to the UK NHS.
Do not microwave these products.
