A matching co-ord is one of the hardest-working outfits in my handmade wardrobe, and this Rose Bottoms and Azure Top combination has been on repeat all summer.

Made in our Espresso Yarn Dyed Stripe Cotton, it’s lightweight, breathable and so comfortable to wear. I love it as a matching set, but both pieces work just as well styled separately too.

I only made one simple change to this pattern... but I think it completely transformed the finished top. 💛

I used the Closet Core Azure Top as my starting point, then added a fold over button band down the centre front to create a button through style that felt just right for this beautiful Butter Yellow Palm Tree Broderie Anglaise.

The delicate embroidery, cheerful sunshine yellow and subtle palm tree design make it such a lovely fabric to sew and wear, especially during the warmer months.

I think this might be one of my favourite summer tops I've made this year... 💙

I sewed the Tilly and the Buttons Leah Top in our beautiful Blueberry Bunches Double Gauze, and I've been reaching for it so much.

Double gauze is such a lovely fabric to wear in warmer weather, but because every double gauze behaves a little differently, I made a few small changes to the pattern to help me get the finish I wanted.

In my latest blog, I'm sharing the five adaptations I made, from using a lighter weight binding to adding a chain loop and choosing seam finishes that work beautifully with this fabric.

Even if you're sewing the Leah in a different fabric, or using double gauze for another pattern, I hope some of the tips will come in handy for your next project.
