We've been shortlisted for the National Association of Jewellers' Community Engagement of the Year Award! To us, this one means a lot.
At our Ethical Jewellery House in the historic market tone of Bishop Auckland, we've welcomed a new DurhamEnable jobseeker into a structured employment pathway; significantly expanded our community of responsible jewellers; rolled out a diverse and accessible programme of jewellery-making courses led by various specialists from sad community; and have recently partnered with Raby Castle, Park and Gardens to deliver our offering to their audiences.
At the other end of the supply chain - after more than a decade of relationship-building - our new partnership with SigraFi means gold from our 11 partner cooperatives in the Democratic Republic of Congo will reach the market this September, with payments finally flowing back to the miners who produced it.
In the words of our Founder Greg Valerio MBE, PeaceGold exists to walk forward on two equally vital legs - commercial enterprise and social impact - because "one cannot move sustainably without the other." From the workbench in Bishop Auckland to the mine site in Ituri - thank you to everyone who's part of this community. 💛
