Known as the Sewing Grandad as you guessed it.. I Sew. I also grow Chillies, love cooking foods from around the world, made electric guitars, digital & traditional Art, teach my grandson Lego & Robotics & now I've started making yoghurt, butter, buttermilk & I've started by making clabber to produce cheeses. Being retired gives me plenty of time to fill in, so I have a load of hobbies including metal detecting & shooting.

I made this nice tartan bedhead tie on bumper cushion a few days ago to send off to someone that requested it. That's the problem with old fashion iron or brass beds the bedhead is never comfortable to sit up against to read a book or have a cuppa.... A quick fun & easy make to do and fairly inexpensive to make.

It's been some time since I posted on here about my sewing adventures. This is a hand tailored/couture Jacket that I have just started. It's my first attempt. Anyway it is currently and I have not just been busy sewing because of this. I have set myself the challenge of applying for the next Series (8) of The Great British Sewing Bee. I have already been one of the lucky few that has made it to the first interview & now waiting to here if I've made it to the 2nd round of face to face interviews with the production team. Sew... Here's Hoping.

I apologise for not posting anything on this page for rather a long time. I've continued to remain busy, but just not with my sewing. As gardening, woodworking, teaching my grandson all things STEM including Lego Robotics have taken priority. However, I have un-clogged my sewing and digital art room, sew let the fun begin once more.

Love Sewing Magazine with 3 pattern packs this month, covering 9 outfits. I just wish they'd push out patterns for men once in a while.

When I served in the Army for 22 years, my life was in the hands of black, brown, red, yellow and white toned people men & women.
We were friends, we were combatants, we were Comrades at arms and we had each others backs when the hammer slammed the anvil.
We trained, we sweated and we bled together.
We came together from all parts of the country; we came together from all religions. We were a society unto ourselves.
We worked like a well oiled machine, a team.
We fought for our brothers through thick and thin.
We protected each other, that was what we did.
The only color we saw was Army Green.
We were Soldiers of the Queen.
Please Copy and past if you think
RACISM IS NEVER OK and should never be tolerated.
I would still today, stand and fight beside those same soldiers of all races that I call my brothers. Nothing has changed.
God bless!
Stay strong & Stay Safe!!

Sometimes especially in lock down you need to do a repair rather than go out looking for a replacement. My ketchmop/floor duster after a few years and many washes the back pockets began to rot away. I'd hand stitched odd repairs but it was time to do a full repair. Now it's as good as new & stronger than before with using better materials.

I'm sure there are plenty of us that have made face masks. However, getting the right seal on a home made one, after goodness knows how many versions I've made. I have finally come up with the right one.
Watch the mask on my video, as it sucks in & blows out because it has a great seal and I still find it easy enough to breath through although it is harder than all the other versions. OK, it's a bit Darth Vader but I'm breathing extra heavily to show it works...lol
