Pedersen’s praise after Owls hit seven

Henrik Pedersen spoke of Wednesday’s “big hunger and top mentality” after his side’s seven-goal demolition of Bromley at Hillsborough yesterday. Only two late Bromley goals disappointed the Owls boss on a day when, despite the poor level of the opposition, we turned in an all-round high level and high tempo performance which the visitors could not cope with. The writing was on the wall very early on with Louie Barry and Mason Burstow foiled by keeper Shamal George before Callum Slattery put us ahead on seven minutes....

New signing Ali Al-Hamadi could be in the Wednesday squad at home to Bromley tomorrow. Striker Al-Hamadi, who joined on a season-long loan from Ipswich this week, will be in Henrik Pedersen's selection considerations as we prepare for our first-ever competitive match against Bromley in the third game in just over a week at S6. Premier League striker joins on loan

Wednesday have signed striker Ali Al-Hamadi on a season-long loan from Premier League Ipswich. The 24-year-old joined the Tractor Boys after hitting 18 goals in 23 games for AFC Wimbledon in the 2023-24 season. He has made 24 appearances for Ipswich so far, scoring four goals, and has also had loan spells with Stoke and Luton. After Wednesday confirmed the deal, the player said: “What people are getting is a really hungry Ali at this moment....

‘Hillsborough hero’ returns to S6

Reece James, one of the heroes of the ‘Miracle of Hillsborough’, has returned to Wednesday on a one-year contract. James, who scored the third goal in our unforgettable play-off semi final second leg fightback against Peterborough at S6 in 2023, later moved on to Rotherham but is now back with the Owls. Henrik’s verdict after S6 league opener ends in defeat6

Henrik Pedersen reflected on the difference between our performances in each half as Wednesday's League One opener at Hillsborough last night ended in a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Bradford City in front of more than 33,000 fans. We dominated the first half, the visitors found it difficult to cope with our slick passing movements and opportunities were create.
