A craft perfect for an evening on the sofa: once you have started to rag rug, it is the perfect craft to wind down and relax 🧖‍♀️

Rag rug making is the perfect sustainable craft and so a big Stitching Kitchen hit.

Old clothes, rags, random scraps of material can have a new life as a pretty rug or wall hanging!

The complexity of your design totally up to you, and the lovely rag rug can be worked on at your own pace and doesn't require a big set of pre-existing crafty skills - great for beginners and for a break from a day of hard brain work.

Bring yourself and your friends (crafty and non-crafty alike) on the 19th of September to learn the techniques to begin your rag rug journey with a rug of your own!

In true crafters' form, the wool crafts don't stop just because it's hot! 🧶🔥

Whether you're a loyal crocheter or new to the wooly world altogether, let us help you through the basics of knitting. This class will teach you the absolute basics, through a washcloth as your very first project.

Your excellent tutor, Emma, is a lifelong knitter (and crocheter), passionate about sharing her skills, and she has infinite patience to get you through your learning process. Emma will guide you through the fundamentals and build your skills so you will be confident to pick up a knitting pattern and make a start.

All equipment and yarn is included in the course and you will have the pattern and needles to practice at home. You will also receive a cuppa and cake along with a warm welcome and a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

If you have been looking for a new hobby to try whilst the sun is too bright for a screen, we'd love to kick off your knitting. You can book a place online today.

Which other crafts have you been doing in the heat? We'd love to know.

If we spend an average of about 27 years in bed over our lifetime (I know, right?!)... we had better make it comfy! 😴

If you're reading this, you probably also spend a decent amount of your life at your sewing machine. Am I accurate?

Combining the two, this fabulous couple of evenings will help you create the comfiest pajama bottoms in whatever fabric design you want!

This class is great for sewing newbies, or for those looking to improve technique and learn to read/follow a pattern.

During the workshop we will make a pair of ‘Jaimie’ pyjama bottoms or shorts, using the Tilly and the buttons pattern worth £18.50 (included in the workshop cost). Let us know if you would prefer to make the male version ‘Joe’

You will achieve...
- Laying and cutting out your fabric and pattern
- Sewing the garment and learn about different seam finishes
- Finish the course with a completed pair of PJ bottoms

This class is a Stitching Kitchen staple (because who doesn't want comfy and stylish pjs), so if you've been, we would love to see what you've made! Put a photo in the comments on Facebook, or tag us on Instagram, to show other sewers what they could be making!
