One week until Learn to Sew begins, and we're so ready to meet you.

If you've been thinking 'I want to learn to sew but I don't know where to start', this is exactly the workshop for you. Over two Saturdays, we'll guide you from complete beginner to someone who's made real projects.

You'll learn:
🧵 Sewing machine setup: threading, tension and troubleshooting
🧵 Essential techniques like seams, zips, buttonholes, lining and more
🧵 Skills to start dressmaking, quilting, or crafting your next project
🧵 Projects you'll complete: bunting, zip pouch and envelope cushion cover

No judgment, no pressure, and plenty of tea and cake.

I will be running the Blue Tit free motion stitching workshop at Knit+Stitch in Harrogate on Saturday 21st November. If you are going to be at the show why not join me for this early bird workshop at 8:30am!

Last time I checked there were just 7 spaces left on the workshop - be quick as I sold out on this workshop in London before the show opened! I can't wait to visit the Harrogate event as it will be my first time there. Autumn evenings are made for starting something new. 🧶

Fancy learning to knit in time for knitted Christmas gifts?

If you've been meaning to learn for ages, this is a gentle, encouraging place to begin. It's a small class with a warm welcome, and you'll take home your needles and pattern to keep practising.

Your amazing tutor will be there to get you from complete beginner, to able to finish your first project (a knitted washcloth to use at home).

Quilt blocks made, fabric chosen, project started… but left in the pile half-finished? 🧵

Sash, Sandwich and Snack is five hours set aside for changing exactly that, with a chance to finish your quilt in company with one of our quilting tutors on hand. We can help you join your blocks with sashing (the strips of fabric between them), add a border, and sandwich your quilt top, wadding and backing on our big tables. You can also get started on the quilting and have guidance with binding.

The Stitching Kitchen studio is set up perfectly for finishing up quilts, with plenty of table space for the final stages of a project. The inspiration in the room is also the best environment for a great start to your new quilt.

Whether you want to crack on or finish off, it's much nicer with company. A cuppa and cake are included, so just bring your own lunch.

Three weeks to go until our Candlewick Quilt Block workshop!

If you like the beauty in the process of making a project with love, this one's for you: a relaxed hand stitching morning with plenty of time to chat as you work. We keep our groups small, so there's room to ask questions and go at your own pace.

Candlewicking is an old technique, using hardwearing embroidery that allows quilts to be beautiful while also holding up after years of love and use. It is a style I am definitely planning to incorporate into my future work, and the skills learnt in this class will give you the same option.
