I don’t often post on Facebook as no-one needs more on their social media feeds, but just a quick photo of a Roman Blind I knocked up this week from an IKEA duvet cover (often a cheap way to source fabric). Lining and mechanism both recycled to keep down the costs. I’m busy with the usual mix of repairs and alterations but always happy to take on bigger projects like this.

Bad day at the office. So many people give up with sewing when their machine (always temperamental) defeats them. Even those of us who sew every day have moments when we want to throw it out the window. Used every tool getting it fixed again this morning. Come and have a lesson in using your machine (and basic maintenance) if you want to get a bit more confident. Threading up mistakes usually solve most issues but every so often it’s a bit more of a faff!
