Today, we gathered at IK School of Fine Tailoring for a very special certificate ceremony to mark the successful completion of our 12‑week tailoring and sewing course. Every student who has taken part walks this journey with unique challenges—many have experienced the heavy weight of loneliness and isolation, while others have lived through the pain, fear, and uncertainty of domestic violence. For them, this course has been so much more than just learning how to measure fabric, cut patterns, stitch garments, or master professional tailoring techniques. It has been a safe, welcoming, and non‑judgmental space where they could step away from hardship, connect with others who truly understand their experiences, and slowly rebuild their self‑belief and sense of worth.
Over the past 12 weeks, we have had the privilege of watching them grow and transform: from feeling hesitant and unsure at the start, to gaining real, practical skills, newfound confidence, and a renewed sense of purpose. Each certificate awarded today stands as a testament not only to their hard‑earned abilities, but to their immense courage, determination, and quiet resilience. It is a powerful symbol of progress, healing, and independence—the beginning of a new chapter, where they now hold the tools to shape their own future, feel valued, and find lasting strength in community. We are deeply proud of every single student, and we look forward to supporting them as they take their next steps.
