This bride is getting married later in the summer and requested to start her fittings earlier as she was worrying about her dress. The dress needed to be taken in about 2 sizes so after our first fitting I've started working away, and thankfully the bodice now fits her sooo much better when we tried it on again last weekend - alterations magic! We've also started making adjustments to the shape of her skirt and I'm so glad to hear its helping her vision come to life and the worries have gone!

Always communicate and raise concerns with your seamstress whether its at the start or later on during your fittings, we're here to put your mind at ease and talk you through posibilities and problem solving, and where possible I'm absolutely happy to start fittings sooner, no one likes stress!!

Can't wait to finish this dress and compare it to the before photos, this bride will look so lovely on her special day ❤️

*BOOKINGS ARE CLOSED FOR THE TIME BEING*

And again I'm terrible at updating the page with photos of recent work! But thanks to those who have been in touch with your alterations over the past few months 🥰

Just to say I'm temporarily closing bookings again for the time being! As some of you may know I also work as a seamstress in bridal shops during the week and with their busier summer seasons starting soon it just means I'm more limited to my own work this year and can only take on so much. I've therefore currently reached the limit of bookings for the next few months at least whilst I assess how much more I could potentially take on, and there's a few lovely prom- and wedding dresses already hanging up here on my rail with more due to come in, and I want to make sure I dedicate enough time to alter their dresses perfectly. Quality over quantity as they say!

As it stands I won't be able to take on any more prom dresses for July 26, should this availability change I will put a post up on here as soon as possible! If you're still looking for a seamstress for your daughters prom dress please do try get booked in with someone as soon as possible, the combination of busy wedding and prom season just means most of us will be very busy over the next few months and I hated letting people down last year! :(

And that's Knip by Dani done for 2025! Last bits have been wrapped up and out of the door to their owners all ready for the festive season!

Wishing you all a lovely Christmas and New Years Eve in advance! 🎄 My next summer is already looking a bit hectic - if you were interested in booking me for your prom and/or weddings please get in touch over the next couple months as I won't currently be able to take on loads more!

✨️ Sparkle season is just around the corner! ✨️

Not long to go till those sparkly celebrations! I'm sure plenty of you will be attending Christmas work parties/dinner, meeting up with friends, and of course magical Christmas and New Years Eve!

Have you planned what you're wearing yet? Don't wait too long! 💃🕺 I currently still have some availability for alterations to help get your outfit sorted for those special occasions. Please note to avoid disappointment I'm unavailable between Christmas and New Years so if you need alterations done for your NYE outfit I will have to do this over the next month!

✨ life lately ✨

Goodness, I've been absolutely terrible at keeping this page up to date so will try keep on top of things a bit more! Here's some snippets of some recent work when I actually remember to take photos - many hems and taking several garments in for customers for that perfect fit!

I've now got some availability for new alterations or custom projects over the next few months due to a temporary change in work schedule so if there's anything you've been wanting to get in touch about, please send me a message and I'd love to chat!

Hi Facebook, it's been a while!

As mentioned in previous posts I've had to go offline a while, because.. I got married! We had the absolute best day and honeymoon and it's been a stressful few months getting all the DIY ready whilst still working full time, especially the last few weeks I felt like I had no spare minute to myself but it's all done!!

I suppose these photos are still relevant on this page as I ended up doing my own alterations (massive shoutout to lovely Lara for pinning my dress though!). I have taken my hem up, taken the bodice in, added some more boning as support on the bodice and had to go over all the little beads to make sure they were secure and replaced some that had gone missing!

The past few months I did still have some alterations requests which I will shortly start working my way through now that I'm back - currently finishing some garments for someone's upcoming wedding and after that I'll go through my list of requests so I will be in touch with those I've spoken to before!

So just a post to say hello, I hope you're well and that I'm back online! The next few months I might still be somewhat selective of what I take on as I still have to go through all the wedding stuff and put things up for sale etc, but please do drop me a message if you need anything done so I can give you an estimate as to when I can schedule it in! :)

✨️ BOOKINGS ARE NOW CLOSED TILL AUGUST ✨️

Hope you're all ok! I'd love to say I'm well rested since my last update in February.... I'm really not and feel busier than ever as I'm now working in bridal shops + the ongoing Knip alterations and custom work! 😂

I'm very sorry to those I've had to turn down for prom dresses and other various alterations over the past month! I did say I wasn't going to take any more work but like the people pleaser I am I did still take on a few small alterations so after posting this... sadly no more exceptions till the summer! Prom and wedding season has fully started and I've already started with first fittings for some of you so I'm hereby officially closing any further alterations till early August when I'm back from my honeymoon! Currently trying to work through everything I've got here as quick as possible so I can meet your final deadlines.

I'm happy to get people booked in for work from August so if you will need anything done such as school badges, taking up school skirts or anything else feel free to drop me a message to get booked in! For now I shall crack on with all your lovely garments alongside prepping for my July wedding! 🥂👰🏻🤵🏻 Sorry for the inconvenience of turning people down but hopefully one of the other lovely local seamstresses can help you till I'm properly back in August!

✨️ BOOKINGS ARE TEMPORARILY CLOSED ✨️

Hello, I hope you're all well! Apologies for the radio silence again, things have just been super busy and therefore I completely lose track of posting content on this page!

Just a quick note saying I'm temporarily pausing any new bookings for alterations or custom work! I'm incredibly grateful that things have been busy the past few months so thank you!! I will very shortly start part time work in a bridal shop as well alongside Knip and as some of you might already know, I'm getting married in July as well with lots of preparations and DIYing still to do 🥂👰🏻🤵🏻 - I'm just a bit worried with the amount of work I'm currently taking on I won't be able to provide the quality I would want to deliver if I take much more on, or equally I don't want to get burned out as I'm sure there will be plenty of stress coming up before July, eek! Being such a people pleaser I say yes to everything as I want to help people out when you message me, but think I temporarily just need to take a tiny step back whilst I adjust to a new routine which will give me a better idea on how much work I can take on in the future months.

For anyone who's garments/custom projects I currently have here to alter/make and any bookings currently standing over the next few weeks/months, please don't worry!! Your booking absolutely still stands and I'd rather focus on high quality over quantity whilst I adjust over this next period and see how much work I can take on, and I look forward to meeting and working with you!

I'm hoping bookings won't be closed for long, very worst case scenario it will be a few months so please bear with me and I'll post an update once I'm able to take on new work again! 💚

✨️ Dress transformation for Niamh ✨️

I'm all for reusing and upcycling clothes where we can. A perfect example for this was this dress transformation I did for lovely Niamh! She recently celebrated her 18th birthday and was in need of a suitable party outfit.

There's so many lovely dresses out there that people wear for prom and it seems like such a shame to just have it sit there in your wardrobe, so after a bit of convincing from her mum Niamh agreed to have her former prom dress turned into a beautiful new party dress!

The original dress had a train and all and after two fittings we've managed to turn it into a lovely knee length party dress instead (swipe to see the original length, this dress had two layers of lining and four layers of net eek)! I also changed the straps for her from thin straps to something wider in the same fabric as the rest of the dress so she felt more secure.

Absolutely loved turning this dress into something new and she looked fabulous!! Got a party coming up and want to do something similar? Get in touch and I would love to discuss your options!

Happy New Year everyone! 💚 Hope everyone had a good NYE and a lovely Christmas, and all the best for 2025! 🥂✨️

Apologies for the radio silence on this page, as some of you already know sadly I have just lost my job at my local fabric shop as we permanently shut the doors just before the Christmas holidays so the combination of that + finishing a lot of alterations jobs before Christmas meant I've just been too busy to take photos of recent work and post them here 😅 but the end of the year consisted of lots of Christmas wear for you all, making cushions and shortening curtains, and I've thankfully managed to quickly sew myself a Christmas party dress! I'm looking back on a great start of Knip and hopefully many more good things to come! 🥰

Staying positive for 2025 and we will see where the year takes us! Just a quick thank you to those who have been recommending me since setting up Knip by Dani earlier in the year, your support means a lot and so grateful that some of the work I've done over the year is thanks to your recommendations! And a big thank you to those who have booked in with me later this year for alterations such as bridal and promwear, I can't wait to meet you all and looking forward to working with you! ❤️ I still currently have availability at the moment for most of the year so if you need anything done please drop me a message, whether its clothing, soft furnishings etc! Just over 5 weeks till Christmas! (Think now we are allowed to start using that word right?!)🎅🎄

I've done a few recent alterations getting some customers ready for their Christmas celebrations and work parties!

A sequined dress has been turned into a tunic (as the customer found it too heavy to wear as is and therefore it was just sat there in her wardrobe), adjustments have been made to a beaded dress bringing the bust in closer together and I've restyled the hem of a green velvet dress - this customer wanted a new hem line so we have taken off a big chunk of the back and whilst still keeping the back longer she should be much happier wearing it at this new length! Almost anything is possible when it comes to stuff like this so if you've got something in your wardrobe you're not happy with, get it altered and give it some new life - I'm more than happy to give you advice on possibilities before even meeting me in person!

I would like to call yesterday Funky Fabric Friday! ✨️

Taken up this gorgeous printed velvet dress which I think is so unique! Some fabrics are trickier to work with then others but that doesn't scare me!

Also taken up a dress hem on a black sequin evening dress, the front has been shortened and eased into the short train in the back. We've sewn a small loop on the inside of the train so it's easier for the client to pick this up when walking around during the event she's going to. PS how gorgeous is this beading on the back!
