When I design a new piece, I rarely think about the moment it’s purchased; instead, I find myself imagining the life it might live afterwards. Blankets wrapped around a newborn on the journey home. The one that’s always tucked into the pram “just in case.” Spread out for picnics and tea parties with dolls, wrapped around sleepy shoulders after a day at the beach, made into dens in the living room, or carried from room to room by little hands.
When I receive images back from photo shoots it always feels a pinch me moment, my babies are no longer tiny, so I love being able to see my designs brought to life. These are the moments I design for.
I hope these pieces aren’t kept in drawers waiting for a special occasion. I hope they’re used every day, washed often, loved deeply, and eventually passed on to another little person to begin their own story. Because to me, the most beautiful things are the ones imperfectly made, stitch by stitch for our imperfect lives. They’re the ones that become part of family life. What everyday moment do you hope your little one remembers one day? 🤍
