Welcome to It's the wood Talkin. Based in the village of Talkin near Brampton, Carlisle, I have been attending local craft fairs for about the last ten years. It is now time to make the giant leap and sell my work via Facebook and etsy. Many of the items I make are from reclaimed pieces of wood such as gate posts, pallets, scraps left over from building work or bits of wood just to beautiful to e

nd up on the fire wood pile. Working with the beauty of the wood and letting the wood tell its story to make items such as tealight holders and clocks. One of my best sellers have been dog and cat bowl holders which can be customised to your pets needs. Please see my photos for a selection of items I have on offer. As I find new bits of wood to work with and make new items I will post them and see if anybody likes them enough to part with their hard earned cash to buy them. I will deliver them free to the Brampton and Carlisle area. Any further afield the cost of postage will be added on to the price of the item. It's been a busy few weeks in the workshop getting the medals ready for the Fellside Events Brampton Trail Run on Sunday. 169 medals all ready for the runners, although I can't say my new assistant was much help...

Really pleased with how smart these oak boot pulls have turned out. Made from some old oak flooring the wood gets to have a new purpose.
The laser engraved Phase Purple logo stands out nicely too👍

This week's little project has been to make some plaques for those taking part in Cumbria Centre "Early Birds" Caravan and Campervan rally at the end of the month.
The organisers are looking at moving away from the more traditional plastic plaques to something more sustainable. These have come out really well.👍
