I had my first Spring/Summer 27 buying appointment last week - for our Maxmara collections IBlues and Emme. The Italian fashion behemoth is always ahead of the game as most showrooms don’t start until next month..
I always love buying but I had a day from hell, well, not quite hell, but if there’s a slightly less awful waiting room or training camp for eternal fire and damnation then maybe there - although less flames than water as there were vicious downpours, thunder and lightning, added to delayed trains (too much water on the line apparently!) and a lost train ticket I had to rebuy to add insult to injury… I arrived at the at the beautiful showroom looking like a drowned rat who’d swum there, whilst all the glossy, groomed, gorgeous Maxmara girls looked like they’d just stepped off a Vogue photoshoot - apart from all that the day went well!
We are known in Sirene for our love of colour and that will never change, but my selection from both collections consisted entirely of neutrals… black, camel, navy, white and denim… of course many of you love all these wonderful tones and we all need neutrals to mix in with our pops of colour unless we are channeling our inner children’s TV presenter, so I was thrilled. The only print I selected was a swoon worthy unstructured animal print suit…
Maxmara always come up trumps with their beautifully made, classic with a twist pieces, do come in and see what we have from them this season - the fruits of a previous, slightly less stressful buying trip…
