Introducing the Áine Cushion 🤍

This fabric has a lovely story behind it. For my wedding, I wove each of my bridesmaids a special blanket as a thank you for all their love, support and friendship over the years.

I loved this colour palette so much that I couldn't stop there! I wove more of the fabric and turned it into a small collection of one-of-a-kind cushions.

It only felt right to name this design Áine, the Irish equivalent of Anna, after one of my wonderful bridesmaids and friends.

If you're new here, you might not know that I give all of my fabrics Irish names, a little nod to my own Irish heritage (and my name, Siobhan ☘️).

I love that each fabric has its own story, making every collection feel that little bit more personal. 🤍

Swipe right to see the collection, some photos of the process as well as some photos of myself and Anna over the years 👯‍♀️

Hi, I'm Siobhan (or Shiv for short). I'm a small business owner in my 30s, a weaver based in Brighton, and a new mum, figuring out motherhood one day at a time.

Come along if you love colourful textiles, behind-the-scenes of running a creative business, home renovations, and the occasional baby update. 🧶☕️✨

May felt like a month of finding our feet as a family of three, squeezing in a little studio time, lots of baby cuddles, and slowly settling into this new chapter. ✨💕

As there seem to be quite a few new faces around here (hello and welcome! 👋), I thought it was a good time to reintroduce myself. Especially as I recently had my portrait taken by the very talented 📸

I’m Siobhan, or Shiv for short 🤍

I’m a weaver, textile designer and small business owner based in Brighton. I started Shiv Textiles in 2018 after falling in love with weaving at university, and since then I’ve been creating colourful, sustainable textiles from rescued deadstock yarns.

You might know me from BBC One’s Make It at Market, one of my weaving kits, a workshop, or perhaps you’ve just stumbled across my colourful corner of the internet.

Over the years I’ve designed textiles for homes, hotels and independent shops, taught weaving to university students, renovated our first home, appeared on the BBC twice, and most recently welcomed Baby O into the world 🥹

Life looks a little different these days as I navigate motherhood alongside running a small business, but my mission remains the same: creating joyful textiles and helping more people discover the magic of weaving.

I’d love to know, how did you find Shiv Textiles? And if you’re new here, come and say hello below 👇✨
