I was looking for a little inspiration for the upcoming stock drop and ended up spending nearly 2 hours rummaging in a wooden box... happy day! 🥳🖤

Especially since I rediscovered this amazing treasure from around 1900-1908. The lacework is layered together seamlessly, and the hand-stitching is so intricate it’s barely visible in places—yet it’s still staggeringly strong, even after 118-126 years.

I can't wait to research more about this garment but for now, back to work!!

It’s 4.38PM on a Friday afternoon in a blistering heatwave. My brain has officially melted, so I am just hiding in the shadows of the studio, staring at vintage lace and pretending I’m actually being productive 🫠

Next stage is a steel b***d corset - I seem to be channeling a rebel phase in the studio at the moment. I want to create an authentically distressed, antique aesthetic, matching the historical pieces, with the structure and industrial connotation of the corset!!

Roughly fifteen years ago, I began experimenting with smaller, zero-waste textile art garments alongside my bridal gowns—creating layered, historically inspired accessories designed to carry their own story.

This is one of my original embroidered lace fichu wraps, recently pulled out for a gentle restoration.
I originally designed it with dangling charms that were removed for cleaning years ago; today, it’s finally back on the mannequin to be brought back to its full, intended look.
For me, design isn't only about the grand gowns. It’s about the historical silhouettes, the delicate weight of the lace, and the way a single accessory can completely shift the energy of an entire ensemble.

I'm currently deciding on the new hardware to finish it, the originals were bronze but I'm wondering about silver 🤔

I love it when a plan comes together 😉 I can't wait to show you the finished look - I bet you can't guess what garments ...
