Preston Grammar School, Millers Road. Brighton. One button did this from a faded photo, ideal for someone like me. Only mistake was changing an a to an o. Check the faded image you can see why!

"Mr. A. Vanderbilt's Coach "Venture" in front of Old Ship Hotel, Kings Road, Brighton". The coach was on its way to London after just leaving the Hotel Metropole. He would have to make many stops to change the horses, The first stop was The Plough at Pyecombe then of through Sussex and Surrey and into London.
This 1910 photograph was take by Edward Leonard Carr who took many what now are historic images around Brighton and Sussex, mostly produced as Picture Postcards.

Interesting postcard I bought recently Munition Workers 1916. Photographer was Henry Thomas Edwards who had a studio in Lewes Road I think No 15. These young ladies must have been local and probably worked around the Railway works.
Maybe a distant relative here (Great Grandmother) so take a good look!
