A favourite pair of jeans repaired. It’s not perfect but I like the wobbly stitches. Yellow thread because yellow is her favourite colour and it compliments the purple sharpie smiley face? A Saturday afternoon well spent

Saturday morning market find. Stumbled upon the most beautiful selection of linen and cotton from an old Scottish mill whose owner recently retired. Plans from top to bottom
1. Linen/cotton curtains (ok I made these immediately, swipe to see)
2. Waxed cotton overshirt
3. Linen/cotton dress. I’m thinking
I’ve been knitting for so long that I’d never really got into sewing but it’s my current favourite, mainly because it is soooo much faster. I do however have a new pattern in the works after a very long time that I hope to share with you soon 🐑

I love a good DK weight wool, it’s the yarn I learnt to knit with. Not too thin that it will take forever to finish a project. But not too thick, to be able to layer comfortably.
In the lead up to Black Friday, are running a promotion each day with today being DK day 🍂
I picked out a super squishy 100% wool in cream for which I have plans to make a Grandad Vest (my latest obsession). Along with a beautiful beige Cotton DK for an oversized, comfy cotton jumper.

Quite a lot of thought went into getting the length of this beanie just right. Long enough to pull over your ears when it’s chilly outside or to be worn folded double above the ears. The ideal length to fold or roll as you will 🍂

Our Story

BUTTON AND BLUE is an award winning British knitwear brand that was founded in 2015 by designer and maker Amy Philip. Our knitwear is known for its high quality craftsmanship using the finest natural fibres and for its contemporary playful design.

Each piece in the label is handmade from a home studio in Brighton, using fine yarns sourced from West Yorkshire. Our garments are designed with little ones in mind and with great attention to detail. This makes our knitwear comfortable, fun to wear and made to last.

Button and Blue favours minimal, gender neutral design with playful details. With this combination of high quality craftsmanship and fun design, Button and Blue creates knitwear that parents want to dress their little ones in and that little ones love to wear.

Alongside our seasonal knitwear collections, Button and Blue released its first range of knitting kits through a successful crowdfunding campaign in 2017. Amy’s understanding of knitwear design which comes from years of designing and from hand-making every customer order has been poured into the kits and knitting patterns. Our knitting kits make it simple for you to make your own contemporary knitwear for little ones, from the finest natural fibres.
