Hey lovely folks, how is it August already?!

It’s been a little while. I’m still here, making, creating, and consciously crafting clothing for .

Over the past few months, I’ve been working mostly on bespoke uniforms for clients and small businesses, as well as lots of made-to-order jackets and commissions, which has been wonderful!

I’m popping back on here to share that this week on Tuesday 19th August, I’ll be hosting a Summer Holiday Tie-Dye Workshop for kids at the amazing in Stroud.

*Tuesday 19th August — 2–4pm
Join me in the main Mill building to learn how to tie-dye — we’ll be transforming socks or scrunchies (your choice!).

•Drop-in session, no booking needed.
•It’s offered on a Pay-as-you-can basis.
The session is popular, so do come early if you can to grab a space.

Lately, I’ve been feeling more than ever the quiet power of making. How creativity, textiles and craft can ground us, connect us, and offer space to slow down.

There’s something truly transformative about sharing positive creativity, especially with children. Providing a space for them to explore, experiment, to make with their hands and leave with something they created themselves, truly unique to them.

They’re also about real-life connection, community, coming together, and making for the joy of it.
In our increasingly homogenised and digital world, it feels more important than ever to amplify the tactile, soft skills of art and textiles, and to honour their value.

I’m really looking forward to holding space for that again this week and hopefully more in the future!

Local friends,I would love to see you there.

Today’s work 🪡💙♻️

In my studio, on the cutting table 4 Navy Foundry Jacket bundles. Post in persons fitting this week these are now cut and prepped ready for sewing. Destined to become practical Uniform for a local business working outdoors tending to nature 🌱

Now carefully tending to the 100% cotton cutting waste which I try to keep minimal with lay plan efficiency. Anything left over is saved and sorted. For mending and future projects avoiding anything going to waste or landfill.

This is offcuts from just 4 Adult Jackets. While large scale mass garment manufacturing is efficient with technical lay planning and machine laser cutting avoiding excessive waste there is still a lot of waste. I can’t help but be reminded today of the clothing brands /businesses and websites that stock over 1,000 styles at anyone time (multiply that by colourways, sizes, seasons, “drops) without considering the percentage that is synthetic and likely won’t biodegrade or won’t fit for millions of years.

What happens to all the textile fibre/fabric waste produced and where does it go? The lasting impact it has on planet, people 😢🤯. The deep guilt that I once was a designer for a department turning over nearly a million £ in annual sales and never questioned the manufacturing waste 😢

Responsibility is an underused word and action in the garment industry. Responsibility for your supply chain, materials and waste. Moving back to making and manufacturing everything in house was about me being able to be fully responsible for everything at every touch point and iterating further.

I keep dreaming about textile shredders community ones, where we can recycle our rag, cuttings and fabric textile waste to reuse efficiently and effectively in local community. Collective community action and responsibility 💚 Another addition to the research and to do in my lifetime list!

Gaza ❤️ Palestine 🇵🇸

Today marks 77 years since the Al-Nakba, the enforced ethnic clearing of 700,000 Palestinians in 1948.

Today is the 586 day of continued bombing, mass displacement and the beyond inhumane conditions and starvation of Palestinians.

Just 3 days ago a report by the “ Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) states, 470,000 people in Gaza are facing catastrophic hunger (IPC Phase 5), and the entire population is experiencing acute food insecurity. The report also projects an alarming 71,000 children and more than 17,000 mothers will need urgent treatment for acute malnutrition. At the beginning of 2025, agencies estimated 60,000 children would need treatment.“ The report also projects an alarming 71,000 children and more than 17,000 mothers will need urgent treatment for acute malnutrition. I will continue to call out and not look away from the grave injustice of humanity that continues today 77 years from the hands of British imperialism .…..

Ceasefire NOW. Justice for Palestine.

Permanent ceasefire
Release of all hostages
Unrestricted aid access
End to the occupation of Gaza

Stitching Olive Green 💚

100% cotton corduroy, the last of the roll. Hopefully back later in Autumn.

A Made to order Foundry jacket with personalised alterations sent out last week. Following a remote video fitting. I’m slowly working through the customer journey for Made to order. Each customer and order is helping to iterate the process. Making and serving in a personal way the past few months has been enriching and enlightening.

Currently drawing energy and feeling the pull to be surrounded by green, by nature. A colour known for harmony, spirituality and the natural world. The Cotswold valleys here are alive, singing every shade of green as May emerges. Never been so grateful for its abundance of seasonal growth, a much needed hug in our delicate world. A welcome reminder of the patience and hesitation required for its arrival. That good meaningful things take time 🌱

Ralph Waldo’s Emerson’s quote…
“Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience”.

Happy World Downs Syndrome Day!

All the love to those rocking an extra chromosome and to those loving, caring and supporting people with Downs Syndrome to thrive.

My heart is full today and every day for the brightest light and guide in my life my sister Kerry! Forever my inspiration and the best and proudest Auntie.

The world is still not an easy place for people with Downs Syndrome. I see parents still fighting the same fight my parents did for my sister in her early years in the 80’s it’s 40 years on 🥲. The fight for the right access and environment to education and educational support. Now in midlife we’re researching, fighting for awareness and understanding to perimenopause and menopause for my Sister and Women aging with Down’s syndrome (the void is mind blowing🥲) there is still so much awareness and understanding of Downs Syndrome needed in society.

Today we champion every human with Down’s syndrome as an individual. We celebrate their own individual circumstances, aspirations, achievements, and honour them showing up authentically at every stage of life, every day not just today!

(Can we also talk about Kerry’s 3rd birthday 80’s outfit ❤️🔥)
