I LOVE a bit of Christmas crafting & I also love using things that mean something to me, so these little decorations for the tree made from my cyanotype knit prints feel so special. A little record of what we got up to this year.
It was really easy to make, I just cut about twenty strips of my prints and hole punched each side. Then added a little tassel and bead before threading one hole of every strip, and then the other side. You then pull them tight so they make a little semi circle shape, add another bead and knot. Then fan out the paper strips!
Things I learnt:
āļø I made a couple, one with 16 strips, one with 20. It worked with both, think about how much you want to see through the bauble.
āļø something longer at the bottom, like a tassel or a few beads really finish it off.
āļøItās a bit fiddly fanning out the strips afterwards, if you want them to stay put you could put a little dab of glue near the top to secure them.
āļø itās a super easy craft to do with an 18 month old on your lap š although a little less enjoyable than doing it on your own š
