✂️ ✂️ A bespoke shirt alteration completed this week

This shirt required more than a simple sleeve adjustment.

The original cuffs were removed and replaced with cuffs taken from a smaller shirt. The replacement cuffs then had to be carefully dismantled, adjusted and reconstructed to fit the sleeves correctly while maintaining the original style, shape and professional finish.

The goal was for the alteration to look as though it had always been part of the shirt – with neatly aligned seams, crisp cuffs and fully functional buttonholes.

It’s the kind of alteration that takes patience, precision and a good understanding of garment construction, but the finished result speaks for itself.

✂️ A little behind-the-scenes from the sewing room today…

These formal trousers needed shortening whilst preserving the original decorative braid detail at the hem.

This isn’t simply a case of cutting and re-hemming. The original hem has to be carefully unpicked, the trim removed and repositioned, the trouser length adjusted, and everything reassembled so it looks as though it was made that way from the start.

It’s the little details that often take the most time — but they make all the difference to the finished result.

Another happy alteration completed today.

These turned out absolutely gorgeous – elegant, flattering and incredibly versatile. They can be dressed up for a special occasion or worn casually for a relaxed summer look.

You would never guess they came from Primark! The wide-leg style hangs beautifully, and a simple alteration has transformed them into a much more expensive-looking pair of trousers. ✨
