About me
Since having my first child at 23 I have always had an interest in supporting others through the journey of pregnancy, childbirth and parenting. As an adult, I studied permaculture and sustainability and have worked in both Australia and the UK in community e

ngagement roles supporting groups to work towards environmental responsibility and community cohesion. I have practised yoga in various forms for 10 years and discovered Birthlight during my second pregnancy. I attended the Birthlight pregnancy yoga and active birthing workshops and then the baby yoga classes. I was so inspired by the ethos of Birthlight and the positive effect it had on my whole family through this journey. In my spare time I love to spend as much time as possible with my gorgeous family, do various crafty things, practice yoga and have my hands in the soil. Please do get in touch if you'd like to discuss any of my services,

✨ One more summer Coffee Chat & Chill... ✨

Next week is our final Coffee Chat & Chill on Jesus Green before we head back indoors.

If you've been meaning to come along but haven't quite made it yet, this is your chance.

Whether you're in the thick of newborn life, navigating toddlerhood, or simply looking to meet other local parents, you'll be warmly welcomed.

β˜• No pressure. No agenda. Just good company.

And if you're looking for ongoing support beyond the summer, The Baby Village is our growing community of 60+ Cambridge parents, with regular meet-ups, online support, yoga, deep relaxation, resources, priority booking and a friendly WhatsApp community. There's always something really special about taking our yoga outside.

Instead of four walls, we have big trees, birdsong, sunshine (when we're lucky!), a cool breeze, and plenty of room for little ones to wander, explore and simply be themselves.

Our yoga is slowing down, connecting with our children, meeting other families, and having fun.

This is one of my favourite parts of The Baby Village. It's a lush community that meets you exactly where you are, in this season of your life.

🌿

Baby & Family Yoga is almost fully booked for this summer, but if you'd like first access to future sessions, Baby Village subscribers always receive priority booking and discounted rates, alongside our regular meet-ups, Coffee, Chat & Chill, online relaxation sessions, and a wonderful community of parents here in Cambridge.

"I wish I'd found this sooner." πŸ’›

That's probably the sentence I hear most often from new mums.

The Baby Village isn't just another baby group. It's a community where you'll find people to message at 3am, friends to meet for coffee, somewhere to bring the hard days as well as the joyful ones, and practical tools that genuinely make parenting feel a little lighter.

This is just one of many messages I receive from parents about the difference the Village has made to their lives. Not just to motherhood, but to their confidence, relationships, wellbeing and sense of belonging.

If you're in those early months of parenting and wondering where your people are... they might just be here.

✨ Join over 60 local mums in Cambridge who are choosing connection over comparison.

Inside The Baby Village you'll find:
β˜• Weekly Coffee Chat & Chill
🌿 Monthly Deep Relaxation (Yoga Nidra)
🚢 Family walks
πŸ’¬ A supportive WhatsApp community
🎧 Resources, podcasts and blogs
❀️ A genuinely kind, non-judgemental community that keeps showing up for one another.

Motherhood was never meant to be done alone.

Come and see what everyone keeps talking about. Your first month is free if you're currently attending one of my classes. πŸ’›

Today was very hot. πŸ₯΅β˜€οΈ

And yet...

The babies still smiled.
The cuddles still happened.
The songs were still sung.
The connection was still there.

One of the things we explore in Baby Yoga is the idea that more than one thing can be true at the same time.

✨ I'm hot, and I'm OK.
✨ I'm tired, and I'm enjoying this moment.
✨ I'm anxious, and I deeply love my baby.
✨ This is hard, and there is still joy here.

Mindfulness isn't about pretending everything is wonderful. It's about making space for the whole experience, without fighting reality quite so hard.

Today, the fans definitely helped too. πŸ˜…

πŸ’› The Baby Village is a community of 60+ mums in Cambridge, offering classes, connection and support. For parents who want more than a baby class β€” a place to connect, reflect, grow and find their footing in the whirlwind of early parenthood.

Some lovely news to share πŸ’›

I'm delighted to be collaborating more closely with Ellie and Dorka as we continue supporting families through pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period.

Between us, we bring experience in midwifery, counselling, yoga, community building, creative practice and nature-based work with families. By connecting our communities and projects more intentionally, we're creating more opportunities for support, learning, friendship and belonging for local parents.

You'll start to see more of Ellie and Dorka within Baby Village spaces, and this is just the beginning of what we'll be creating together.

If you'd like to learn more about them, you can find their bios on the Meet the Team page of the Baby Village website.

Here's to building an even stronger village around local families πŸ’›

🌈 Cambridge Pride Today's the day 🌈

We'll be at Cambridge Pride on Jesus Green from 10am–5pm with our Baby Nest space.

Come and find our bell tent and gazebo if you need somewhere to pause for a while. A place to feed a baby, entertain a toddler, sit in the shade, meet other families, have a chat, or simply take a breath amongst the busyness of the day.

We'll also have our Free Mum Hugs and Listening Ears team there throughout the event.

Whether you're coming on your own, with friends, with babies, children, teenagers, partners, chosen family or family of origin, you're very welcome.

Thank you for following along with our countdown over the last ten days.

Happy Pride.

See you on Jesus Green 🌈

1 day to go until Cambridge Pride! 🌈

Q***r families are powerful.

There is power in creating a family.

There is power in building a life that reflects who you are.

There is power in choosing love, connection and community, particularly when there are people who would rather you didn't.

There is power in raising children who know that families come in many forms.

There is power in showing children that they don't have to fit neatly into someone else's idea of who they should be.

There is power in q***r joy.

There is power in visibility.

There is power in community.

There is power in standing alongside trans and gender-diverse people at a time when they are facing increasing hostility and political attack.

Tomorrow, hundreds of people will gather on Jesus Green to celebrate, protest, connect, dance, laugh and spend time with one another.

We'll be there too.

The Baby Nest will be open throughout the day, offering a welcoming space for families with babies, toddlers and children. The Baby Village alongside The Cambridge Doula Collective and our wonderful Free Mum Hugs team, will be creating a little corner of Pride dedicated to families, connection and care.

Over the last ten days we've talked about joy, visibility, care, community, safety, belonging, hope and resistance.

Power lives in all of those things.

It lives in people coming together.

It lives in refusing to disappear.

It lives in creating the kind of world we want our children to inherit.

See you tomorrow.

3 days to go until Cambridge Pride!

Q***r families are resistance.

Our very existence challenges the idea that there is only one right way to live, love, raise children or build a family.

Many of the things q***r families have today were hard won.

The right to marry.

The right to adopt.

Recognition as parents.

Access to fertility treatment.

Protection from discrimination.

These things exist because generations of people before us pushed back against a world that told them they didn't belong.

And that work isn't finished.

There is a particular kind of resistance in choosing to build something hopeful when the world feels uncertain.

In raising children.

In creating community.

In believing that people deserve to be themselves.

In continuing to love openly when there are voices telling you that you shouldn't.

Many q***r people grew up without seeing families like their own reflected around them.

Many trans and gender-diverse young people are still growing up in a world that questions who they are.

Creating a different future for those children matters.

That's why Pride matters.

Because joy, visibility, safety and belonging don't happen by accident. They happen because people keep showing up and creating them together.

Bringing our children.

Taking up space.

Living openly.

Loving openly.

Saying: we're here, and we're not going anywhere.

That's part of what Pride means.

Come and find us at the Baby Nest on Jesus Green this Saturday. We'll be celebrating q***r families in all their wonderful forms, and helping create a Pride where families with little ones can be part of the day too.

5 days to go until Cambridge Pride!

Q***r families are built.

Built through love.

Built through hope.

Built through determination.

And Sometimes built through countless conversations, difficult decisions, paperwork, appointments, waiting lists, significant expense, setbacks and persistence.

Built through people choosing one another over and over again.

Q***r families come into being in many different ways. Through birth, donor conception, IUI, IVF, adoption, fostering, co-parenting, step-parenting, blended families, chosen families and countless other paths.

Some journeys are straightforward.

Many are not.

For many q***r parents, becoming a family means navigating systems that were not originally designed with us in mind. It means explaining ourselves, advocating for ourselves, searching for information, challenging assumptions and sometimes facing barriers that other families never have to think about.

It can take extraordinary amounts of time, energy, money and emotional resilience.

And yet people do it anyway.

Because the desire to love, nurture, care for and raise children has never belonged to one particular type of family.

What makes a family isn't the route that brought people together.

It's the love, commitment and care that hold them there.

At Cambridge Pride we'll be celebrating q***r families in all their forms, and creating a space where those families can simply be.

Come and find us at the Baby Nest on Jesus Green on the 13th. We'll have a welcoming space for families with little ones, alongside our friends from the Cambridge Doula Collective, plenty of Free Mum Hugs, and a whole lot of community.

We can't wait to see you there.
