I never take for granted going to see new customers who invite me in their home to see their curtain requirements. Today’s customer lives in an old cottage which is currently under renovation. It’s magical to see stages of renovation and today I saw layers of wallpaper that had been preserved under plaster board for years. All delicate and pretty showing different periods of time. A real pleasure and privilege to see.

*FOR SALE*

I’ve been having a sort out of materials, and I’ve got lots of offcuts which are suitable for patchwork, small items or arts and crafts all for sale. Everything is colour coordinated, and I’ve got pinks, reds, greys, greens, blues and a bag of multi colours! I also have larger pieces for sale, perfect if you want to try and make a cushion yourself.
I’ve also got lots of knitting needles, crochet hooks and haberdashery items all for sale. Fabrics are collection only or local delivery. Please message me if you would like to come and look. My husband would be very grateful, it’s beginning to take over the garage!

Helping a house feel like a home! 🏠

Earlier this week, we were busy fitting curtains and blinds throughout the lounge, dining area, and master bedroom.

We loved being able to repurpose our client’s favourite existing curtains in the lounge by adapting them for her new windows and making news pairs to fill the rest of the space. We added a red coordinating border at the bottom to match the top to add length. These new windows were much longer than the previous house.

In the bedroom we coordinated the bedroom fabrics to match the wallpaper. Hopefully they will enjoy a good nights sleep with curtains up, although the view from their bedroom window was stunning. 🪴

It’s always a delight working with a client who knows exactly what she wants—the results are truly stunning.

Many thanks for all the good wishes following my daughter’s hospital stay. Good news is the surgery was successful and we are just waiting discharge from the hospital. It’s been an eventful 48 hours. You know she is feeling better when she can manage chocolate!

I hope normal service will resume tomorrow. I’ve got some fabulous curtains to hang next week and I’m excited to show you ( they should have been fitted yesterday!)

Running a small business teaches you to expect the unexpected. Every day starts with a plan and yesterday morning was no different. But then a trip to the doctors with your teenager , results in a trip to A&E, a hospital stay and surgery. And all I can do is sit, wait and watch.

But days like this are a reminder that business is important, yet family is everything.

The emails can wait. The paperwork can wait. The fittings can wait. The jobs on the list will still be there tomorrow.
