And for our second live instore announcement today: we'll be hosting GWEN (of Adwaith) performing her debut album "UMA" IN FULL on the 30/10/26!

If you've been with us for a while, you know Adwaith has a huge history with the shop and we've been proud to support them since the beginning, so it's exciting to see GWEN spread her wings to fly solo.

Drawing inspiration from the fearless experimentation of Kim Gordon and Björk, the rhythmic freedom of Lizzy Mercier Descloux and CAN, and the immersive sonic worlds of Nine Inch Nails, Tricky and Massive Attack, "UMA" feels both immediate and timeless.

We hope you're as excited as we are to hear this new material in a live setting (unless you were lucky enough to see her at Green Man Festival).

Have we had enough time to digest the magic of Getdown Services from a few weeks back? Good, 'cause today we have two more instore gigs to announce!

First up is CHLOE SLATER, who'll be releasing her debut album "Riot Youth" next month will be making an instore appearance on the 2ND OCTOBER! The entry will work the same as Getdown Services did: to gain entry to the performance you simply just need to buy the album on CD or vinyl!

With her upcoming debut, departs her signature, succinct commentary on the issues plaguing her generation: social divide, toxic internet culture, our dwindling sense of community, the climate crisis and, ultimately, the vampirish billionaire class cashing in on our collective misery. The Wall Of New Releases and I are green with envy with everyone who's at Green Man Festival (we have a stall there, say hi!) and ArcTanGent this weekend - but we're gonna have a good time too!

With the new we have Twenty One Pilots, Westside Cowboy, The Velvet Underground, Lambchop, Paul Heaton, Grandmas House, Robyn Hitchcock, Getdown Services and Sha Ray & DJ Haram.

For reissues we have Happy Mondays, Warsaw (aka Joy Division), Ash Puthli and Insane Clown Posse.

Thanks to everyone who came down to our first instore with Getdown Services. What a fantastic evening was had by all. So nice to see so many familiar faces and lots of new ones in the shop. Really pleased with how the space worked for the gig- a bit more breathing space than previous spaces we’ve had- pssst we could have got a few more in!
The band were great with their fleshed out set- as opposed to stripping back for the instore - they added drums and live instrumentation - brilliant. Massive thanks to them and their crew and to the band for patiently and enthusiastic signing the new LP/CD’s for the audience
Particular thanks to Jordan and Caleb from Bunkhouse who leant us the PA and their assistance and for opening the bar up specially for the eve- great collaboration.
Very nice to see lots of other people who are helping push the West Wales music scene in attendance too.
Also thank to Emma and Chey and Phil Jones for documenting the night.

Information for the Getdown Services instore on Monday.
The store is scheduled to start at 9 pm. We hope to have the doors open for 8.30pm.
Timings will slightly depend on how quickly the band get to us after playing at our friends at The Second 45 beforehand.
Entry is through the pre purchase of the GS CD or vinyl and is limited to one per purchase. We are completely sold out so there will be no admission for walk ups sorry.
The Bunkhouse bar which is two doors up will be open from 6pm for anyone requiring light refreshments and they will open the stage doors on The Kingsway for easy movement between.
We have the CDs and vinyl ready for collection either today or on the night. Unfortunately the stock initially went to our old shop so the window for posting out was too narrow. If anyone who has purchased does want theirs shipped still please let us know.
This is our first instore in our new premises so we are very excited for the event- see you there!

*The Wall of New Releases hums the tune of Mos Def/Yasiin Bey's 'Auditorium'*

Some lush new releases out today with Phoebe Bridgers, Sweeping Promises (love these) and Open Mike Eagle & Kenny Segal.

Then for reissues there's Abba, Motörhead, John Coltrane and last but most definitely not least, Mos Def/Yasiin Bey (you're all lucky I preordered it out of excitement or I'd have this copy!)

A reminder about the GETDOWN SERVICES instore gig this coming Monday: the album is out today, so you can collect from the shop if you preordered it - but you can wait until the gig itself as well, you might be able to get them signed then!

We'll confirm the time of day asap, it'll be in the evening, bringing yout order number just in case would be ideal but we'll have a list of orders/customers with us anyway.

PREORDER ALERT!

We'll be getting the 2026 remaster of Cabaret Voltaire's most commercially successful album, "C O D E", in commemoration with their final UK tour in October!

The remaining members of the industrial, experimental and electronic legends will be saying fairwell with this tour and remaster, especially following Richard H. Kirk's passing in 2021. The 3CD will feature bonus remixes (some have never been released 'til now) and the vinyl will be pressed on a lush green/black marble variant.

Recorded at the band's own Western Works studio in Sheffield, with Sherwood joining for pre-production before the sessions moved to Red Bus in London to mix, the album captures a band at the height of their commercial and creative powers.
