Had a few alterations recently. This Macaulay kilt had a moth eaten under apron and needed taken in 3 inches.
I cut out the damaged fabric and rejoined the apron. The front apron was taken apart and reduced in size.

Missed few days posting, sorry.We're now almost done, removed all the tacking Stitches ready for a final press.

Productive day today.
I've replaced the hundred of pins with hundred of tacking stitches. Pined and tacked both aprons and managed to get 20 of the 31 pleats sewn..woopwoop.

Holidays are over, so back to work.🫤This is a MacKenzie modern, pleated to the sett. Nice deep colours.

This came in for an alteration, extra pleats added and 2 new aprons - the originals had been well and truly chowed out by some very hunger moths.

Reasonably simple alteration, unless of course the Mill changed the size of the stripes, starts weaving at a different point and changes the colours ever so slightly.

Next up is this Campbell of Argyll, pleated to the horizontal- using the Royal blue band of colour. Also, has the Scottish flag cotton fabric as lining. A very individual and bespoke kilt.
