I’n selling this gorgeous vintage feather boa on my etsy shop. I bought it about 6 years ago as I wanted it for a photo shoot I was planning, but the photo shoot never happened and this gorgeous boa never saw centre stage.

Instead she has been stored away in her original box from Dickens & Jones of London (a much loved and grand department store in Regents Street, London, W1, sadly no longer with us).

I really do think this amazing item should be given the love and admiration she deserves.

The box is a bit dented and faded because of its age. There is a postmark; the address label has been removed, which stated it was bought and sent to its original owner in 1970.

The box measures 18” x 12” x 3” which is 46.5cm x 31cm x 5.5cm.

The feather boa measures approximately 72” / 184cms long and is super fluffy and thick, unlike modern feather boas.

I’ve not seen a feather boa of this quality before, and certainly nothing like it on Etsy.

This would make a perfect accessory for a bride; as it’s ivory white, or if you want to use it in a burlesque show, or as I was going to do, as a prop in a vintage photo shoot.

Go on, surprise your lover with this, greet them at the door wearing just this feather boa and a pair of fluffy marabou heels….. you never know what it will lead to! 😜

I only have one of these and I’m sure it will be snapped up quickly, so don’t dither, if you love it, buy it now.

Following a successful buying trip, we were lucky enough to find these exquisite vintage cravats.

These cravats are the perfect accessory for the quintessential English Gentleman. Stylish but not as formal as tie, the cravat brings sophistication and elegance to any outfit.

The cravat has a history that goes back to ancient Egypt, but was made fashionable during the 1630s, when Croatian mercenaries enlisted by the French, knotted cloths around their necks made of linens worn by the soldiers to the fine silks worn by the officers. It is possible that initially cravats were worn to hide soil on shirts. Alternatively, it was thought to serve as psychological protection of the neck during battle from attack by a spear.

The word cravat comes from the french word ‘cravate’, which came from the mispronunciation of the word ‘croate’ meaning Croatian.

The French took this style of neckwear and made it a fashion accessory. It has been worn by many kings, aristocrats, politicians, men of science and the arts. The cravat had a resurgence during the 1950s and 1960s with the likes of Cary Grant, Errol Flynn and Michael Caine bringing it bang into the 20th century.

Just when you think we’ve listed all our treasures, we find another cache of goodies!

In this listing, an original 1970s all in one jumpsuit in a floral chiffon fabric. It has long sleeves and flared trousers with a cute cut out to the tummy and tie to the bust, it zips up the back.

The photos don’t do this outfit justice and I am so gutted it doesn’t fit me!

I can’t find a makers label or size but it measures

18” across from armpit to armpit
14” across the waist
60” from back of neck to hem of trousers.

It’s made from a stretchy chiffon fabric and has a funky flower power pattern.

Absolutely gutted this doesn’t fit me. Perfect for Ibiza or festivals.

Just when you think we’ve listed all our treasures, we find another cache of goodies!

The item listed here is an absolutely fabulous all in one body. Decorated with gold beadwork over a batwing sleeves. It is heavy with all the beads but super spectacular to wear.

It is high cut on the legs for maximum leg bombing. The back is fastened with a zip, it has a thong bottom and stud fastenings to the gusset.

There is no label or maker, but it measures across the waist 17” and is 29” from the shoulder to the crotch.

Ideal to wear under a skirt or trousers as a top. It could be worn for a vintage photo shoot or for a festival or out clubbing in Ibiza or London.

The photos don’t do this outfit justice. Severely tempted to keep this myself as I love a bit of clubbing.
