The car is packed and I’m finally heading off to Lincolnshire for my belated birthday party! It’s been a very hot day trying to get some work done, but it hasn’t gone to plan - I’m looking forward to cooler temperatures next week 🥵 Currently counting down the minutes until I’m sitting in my parents garden with a cold beer or a crispy gin 🍻🍸 I’ll try to get back to messages throughout the weekend but I am on cake decorating duty and will be enjoying catching up with pals and family so do bear with me (more than usual!) and I’ll be back to normal on Monday. In the meantime, if anyone spots an aircon unit in stock, gimme a shout! Have a lovely weekend all 🎉🧡

My last prom dress has been collected today, and what a season it has been!

I’ve had fewer dresses this year to balance taking on more wedding work, but it’s still been every bit as exciting. I’ve had lots of photos through already and I’m working on getting a few posts scheduled to show off the glamorous finished articles.

Thank you to everyone who chose me to do their alterations, I really appreciate you trusting me with such precious garments for your big nights! 🎉👗✨🪡

The lovely Natasha looking absolutely stunning in her gorgeous wedding dress.

It was such a pleasure to alter this gown. I had to carefully remove and reapply some of the intricate beading to complete the alterations, and it was so satisfying seeing the pattern come back together.

Beautiful Sue in the middle here asked me to create her Mother of the Groom dress, inspired by a bespoke design she’d come across while gathering ideas. We made a few adjustments to tailor it perfectly to her style and vision, and we were both absolutely delighted with the finished result.

There was even just enough fabric left to create a matching cravat and pocket square for her husband too - such a lovely finishing touch. And with a spare half hour at collection, I was also able to give the yellow dress a quick steam too. A real family affair! 🙂

Had the most glorious haircut yesterday - a version of a long s**g if you will - by the fabulous . It’s been over 6 years since I stepped foot in a hairdressing salon (I think my little scissors did ok to a point!) but I was getting out of my depth and knew I could only achieve the look I wanted with a professional taking over! I adore what Faith has done with my barnet, and I can’t wait to zhuzh it up with my diffuser when it’s not too hot to wear down again - safe to say today I am “banging” around with the length clipped up as my workroom is getting hotter by the second 🥵

One of my best girls turns 40 this weekend (🎉🥂🍾) and between work, fittings and the usual chaos of this season, I only got around to trying on the outfit I’d been curating in my head for weeks at gone 10pm last night… and it didn’t work. I also had to pack and be ready to leave straight after work today 🫠

Cue an emotional tantrum and a very restless night stressing over what on earth I was going to wear!

Then my mind wandered back to this dress I made a couple of years ago for a wedding - a dress I absolutely loved - but the length just wasn’t quite giving ✨party✨. So in between fittings today, I’ve chopped a good few inches off it and given it a whole new life as the perfect birthday party dress.

The life of a seamstress - especially this time of year - is unpredictable and a little chaotic, but one thing’s for sure…. there’s always a way around a wardrobe crisis!
