August 2026 you’ve been immense. For the first time in my life I decided to take the summer off.

The incredible weather played its part perfectly, the time spent with family & friends, the trip to Croatia, it really has been perfect.

The reset is complete and now it’s time to get back to business.

Feeling energised & refreshed and the batteries fully recharged it’s now full steam into the Autumn season.

Shooting tweeds, tuxedo party season and Winter weddings will have all of my attention starting Thursday this week!

When building a wardrobe, these are the 5 items that every man just “must have”

1. The perfectly cut navy suit

The foundation of a gentleman’s wardrobe. It covers weddings, business, funerals, dinners and virtually any occasion where he needs to look assured.

2. The relaxed navy blazer

Arguably the hardest-working individual garment in the wardrobe. It can be worn with grey trousers, chinos, cream trousers, denim, an open-neck shirt, fine knitwear or a roll-neck.

3. The beautifully fitted grey trouser

This may sound less exciting, but it is one of the most useful things a gentleman can have made—particularly because properly fitting trousers are surprisingly difficult to buy off the peg.

4. The proper dinner suit

Most men eventually require black tie, yet frequently leave it until the last minute and settle for an ill-fitting hired or off-the-peg suit. A well-made dinner suit can serve a gentleman for decades.

A change of scenery does wonders. 🇭🇷

A few days away, a slower pace, some sunshine and the only suit in sight is the swimming kind!

Although apparently I’m incapable of completely switching off.

Colours, textures, combinations, the way people dress in the heat, I find myself constantly noticing things that somehow end up feeding back into what I do.

I’ll be heading home shortly, back to the fabric books, fittings and creating some beautiful made-to-measure pieces for the end of summer and the season ahead. Anyone for tweeds?!

And actually, I’m rather looking forward to it.

Sometimes you need to step away from what you do to remember how much you enjoy doing it.

He knew exactly what he wanted. My job was to make it work. 🍷

When this client came to me ahead of a wedding, he already had a very clear picture in his head.

The colour.
The silhouette.
The proportions.

It isn’t about taking a standard suit and making a few alterations. It’s about understanding the individual wearing it, how the jacket should sit, where the balance needs to be, the correct length, trouser proportions, button position, shoulder line… all the small details that completely change the finished result.

We spent time getting those details right.

And this was the result.

Bold? Absolutely. Very personal? Without doubt!

For me, that’s one of the most satisfying parts of what I do. Taking an idea somebody has in their head and turning it into something they put on and immediately think: Nailed it!!!!
