Today we started off with a little impromptu movement with instruments, a little “ Tambourine Tennis “ with a baloon and tambourine as rackets , it was great fun and engaging and if the residents didn’t manage a hit there was still music to be heard . Everyone involved had great fun and it was very good for movement and strength as the photos will show , there were arms and legs everywhere! 🥰

Today, we had the pleasure of treating two very deserving residents to a special outing at Astley Park as part of their resident of the day.

We enjoyed a delicious ice cream, a gentle stroll, and the beautiful surroundings together. 🍦🌳

It was wonderful to spend time out in our local community, chatting with people along the way and creating lovely memories. Seeing our residents smiling, laughing, and enjoying themselves is what it's all about.
Days like these remind us that it's the little moments that make the biggest difference.

🍫 Happy World Chocolate Day! 🍓🍌
On Tuesday our wonderful residents celebrated World Chocolate Day with a delicious chocolate fondue session!
There were plenty of tasty treats to dip, including fresh strawberries, bananas, oranges, marshmallows and more. It was lovely to see everyone chatting, laughing and enjoying a sweet afternoon together.
Activities like these are a wonderful way to encourage social interaction, create happy memories and, of course, indulge in a little chocolate!
A big thank you to our fantastic team for making the afternoon so special. ❤️

Happy Saturday from Astley View Care Home. This morning we were able to pop out for a little walk around our home. Despite the wind, we still enjoyed looking at the beautiful flowers and plants that grow nearby. We loved watching several bees flying from one bloom to the next as they enjoyed their morning feast. There is really no better way to start the day.

This afternoon we enjoyed learning all about the Declaration of Independence as it was the Fourth of July. We learned all about the events that led to the signing of the declaration and the people who were involved. Afterwards we looked through the connected flashcards to see how much American history we knew. A very informative and very enjoyable afternoon was had by all that attended.

🎨✨ Creativity Has No Limits ✨🎨
We enjoyed another wonderful art session, where residents explored colour, shape, and self-expression through painting. There were no rules, no pressure, and no right or wrong way to create...just brushes, paint, imagination, and plenty of smiles.
These sessions are designed to be accessible and meaningful for people of all abilities, encouraging confidence, communication, creativity, and connection. It was amazing to see everyone engage in their own unique way, producing artwork that was as individual as they are.
The room was filled with concentration, laughter, conversation, and moments of pride as each masterpiece began to take shape. Every brushstroke told its own story.
A huge well done to everyone who took part today. The creativity on display was truly inspiring, and the joy shared around the table reminded us that art is about the experience just as much as the finished piece. 💜
