Sometimes a sail doesn't need huge numbers or bold graphics to tell its story.

This new everyday shoulder bag is made from beautifully bright white reclaimed sailcloth, finished with bright blue handles and just a tiny corner of the sail's original neon yellow marking peeking through.
And look a little closer and you'll find the things I love most about working with old sails — original stitching, creases and a few marks from its previous life.
Because perfect isn't really the point.
Character is. ⛵💙

💙 FROM SAIL TO WORK BAG 💙

This one has turned into such a practical—and rather special—bag.

Made from reclaimed white sailcloth, it features an original blue sail label on one side, along with the outline of a bold “K” from its former life at sea. The other side has been kept beautifully simple in white.

It can be carried using the blue handles or worn across the body with its detachable, adjustable strap. Inside, there’s a zipped pocket, a slip-in pocket and even a detachable matching purse for all those smaller essentials that usually disappear to the bottom of your bag. 😂

There’s also a handy slip pocket on the outside and a zip across the top to keep everything safely inside.

Perfect as a laptop bag, work bag or everyday shoulder bag—and, as always, completely one of a kind.

Some projects are about much more than making a bag...
A few weeks ago, I received a message through my website from a gentleman with a very special request.
His wife had a well-loved Camel Trophy jacket that held years of memories. Rather than leaving it tucked away in a wardrobe, he wondered if I could transform it into something she could use and enjoy every day.
I was honoured to say yes.
The original jacket had so many wonderful details that deserved to stay part of the story – the Camel Trophy Guyana '92 badge, the Land Rover patch, the original zips, sleeve clips and, of course, all those fantastic pockets.
Using as much of the jacket as possible, I created a one-of-a-kind rucksack. There was even enough fabric left to make a matching crossbody bag, both lined with the brown cotton fabric the customer had chosen.
The best part?
Seeing the smile on her face when she received them.
Moments like these remind me why I love what I do. Giving treasured pieces a new purpose means the memories don't stay hidden away – they become part of everyday life once again.

These two bags were made from the very same reclaimed trysail — complete with its original bright yellow circles and big blue sail numbers.

Both are big, lightweight, washable and very much of the “throw everything in and GO” variety — beach towels, shopping, swimming stuff, holiday bits… you know the drill. 😂

⚡ ONE SAIL. TWO BAGS. TWO VERY DIFFERENT LOOKS. ⚡

I absolutely LOVE how these two turned out. 💙💛

Both bags were made from the very same reclaimed trysail — complete with its original bright yellow circles and big blue sail numbers.

And yet look at them!

One ended up bold, bright and slightly bonkers with its huge blue 0 and flash of yellow 💛
The other kept things a little calmer with that fabulous original blue No. 3. 💙

Same sail.
Same size.
Same blue handles.
Completely different bags.

Both are big, lightweight, washable and very much of the “throw everything in and GO” variety — beach towels, shopping, swimming stuff, holiday bits… you know the drill. 😂

And because I work with the markings that are already on the sail, there will never be another pair exactly like them.

Handmade by me here in Dorset from a sail that had already done one job — and was quite clearly not finished yet. ⛵️

These new sailcloth bags have all been washed, cleaned and are now enjoying a bit of Dorset sunshine. Next stop: their photo shoot! 📸

Once the pictures are taken, they’ll be ready to make their way onto the website. There are some fabulous bright colours in this collection — keep your eyes peeled! 💙💛
