A little bit about me.
Hi, I thought I would tell you a little bit about myself and Pretty Pom-Poms! So let me introduce myself... My names Beth, I'm 20 years old and have a great passion for making children's clothing! (A few other hobbies i have are: Make-up, occasional gaming and cars! I attend car meets regularly but never without my crochet!) I run this business alongside studying a university degree, where I study fashion Design with Textiles. My dream has always been to one day have my own children's boutique, and I'm determined to make it happen! I design, make and advertise all my own products... When I started Pretty Pom-Poms I originally sold rugs and blankets, it was a business idea that I and my partner had! Once it was up and running it made me think, why don't I start my boutique now? I don't need an actual shop yet! I started thinking of ideas, designs etc... and started making a few products, once I got a few sales I knew I wanted to do this for real! And that's where it all began, now it's like a part-time job. I just love creating my own designs and showing them to you all, its a lovely feeling getting all the great feedback you all give! I have lots of ideas for the future and I hope I can share them all with you soon.
You are probably wondering where Chantelle fits into all this! Well, let me explain, Chantelle is my best friend and when I first started up my business she helped me with the pom-pom blankets. She learnt how to knit around the same time and she decided she wanted to knit hats to donate to ill/premature babies in the hospital, she asked if she could advertise her hats on my page to try fund her cause and that's how she became a member of the team! At this point I was a very amateur knitter, I knew how to do a basic knit square and that was about it, she helped me improve and gave me tips and advice on how to do different stitches etc... I probably wouldn't be able to knit if she hadn't helped me! Once I could knit I decided I wanted to crochet instead, its something I've always wanted to learn and I prefer the way it looks compared to knitting! so I tried to teach myself and I was absolutely useless... I just kept making knots! I tried for about 3 weeks and then decided I needed to drag Chantelle into it! So we sat down and learnt to crochet (i admit she learnt a lot faster than me, my first few attempts turned out half the size they were meant to be aha!) now we can both crochet fine, and I love doing it! I take it everywhere with me. In return for her helping me knit I taught her how to sew, shes still learning but she's doing extremely well!
That's enough about me, I best get back to making!
