💞 School Uniform Bank 💞

Hi everyone! I often get asked if I stock school uniform items. It’s not something I’ve usually sold, but after hearing from so many families, I’ve decided to start a School Uniform Bank.

All school uniform items will be completely FREE of charge.

I know how difficult things can be for some families, and no child should ever have to go without the clothing they need for school.

If you have any unwanted school uniforms that are still in good condition, I would be so grateful if you would consider donating them to the baby shop. I’ll make sure every item is washed, ironed, and hung up, ready for another child to use.

If you’re struggling and need school uniform, please feel free to pop into the shop. There will be no charge and no judgement just support for families who need it.

Why donate to us?

We are a family run business with a passion for helping families in our community. We happily accept many baby items that charity shops often can’t take, helping to reduce waste and keep perfectly good items out of landfill by giving them a new home.

Although we’re not a charity shop, we work hard to keep our prices as low as possible. As a small independent business, we cover our own costs, including rent, business insurance, and other running expenses, while continuing to make affordable baby essentials available to everyone.

We also provide free emergency care packs for families in need because our goal has always been simple to help as many people as we can.

We’re friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help in any way we can.

This made me a bit sad today…

Seeing this in a charity shop window got me thinking about how special charity shops were when I was growing up. My mum could never have spent £150 on toys (or the 90s/2000s equivalent!) so the charity shop was one of the few places where she didn't have to say no. Everything was within budget.

This box of Lego probably is worth £150 and I of course want the charity to raise money for their cause… but I can’t help but think about a kid walking into a charity shop and still not being able to afford things.

This is definitely not the first time I’ve felt this way either - last week I saw a sandwich bag of toy cars priced at £20, a digger toy at £50 (it was cheaper in the sale online) and a horse stable for £100.

I completely understand that charity shops need to raise money, but the prices for baby and children’s items are becoming so expensive. Charity shops should be somewhere families can find affordable essentials, especially with the cost of living these days.

One thing I can promise is that you’ll never be shocked by the prices in my baby shop. In fact, people often say, “You’re too cheap!” But that’s because my aim isn’t to charge as much as I can it’s to help as many families as possible. I believe everyone deserves access to affordable baby and children’s items without breaking the bank. ❤️
