Open studio this weekend at Old Rescue Station, Brigham on Sunday 11- 3 but no John for the next two weeks. Next Sunday , 29th August we will both be away so no Open studio then. However I am delighted as ever to be at the Fletchertown Art Exhibition which will run from Saturday 22 August to Sunday 30th August. For details see poster .
I will have a wide variety of hats, headbands, necklaces and scarves…winter will come!.. for sale alongside a wide variety of great work by local creatives..You can even enjoy tea, coffee and handmade cake while you consider your purchases.

Congratulations to Wendy and Dan at the new DoT Gallery in Cockermouth on the final week of the first month of exhibitions. It’s been great to have such positive feedback on the
BLUE exhibition and am delighted so much work has gone to new homes including the pieces below and many more.
Still open till next Tuesday and where work has sold it’s been replaced by new work so still plenty to see.

There are times when I welcome some repetitive , meditative work and on those occasions I turn to Hats!!! For some years now I have sold different designs under my Giving range..essentially buy a hat and another of same quality gets donated to someone in need. Over the years consignments have gone to Calais and the local Food Bank. This year they should be winging their way to Ukraine. Here some early versions are beautifully modelled by some visiting English Rugby players. The current version are created using Tunisian Crochet which produces a thick double layer suitable for the Cumbrian climate . Where possible I unravel woollen jumpers then wash and sometimes dye the yarn. If you are tempted by these they can be tried any Sunday 11-3 at Old Rescue Station , Low Rd, Brigham CA130XH during my weekly Open Studio sessions.

I have really appreciated the response to my BLUE exhibition at the new DoT Gallery in Cockermouth. Quite a number of the pieces have sold already, just two weeks left, and have been replaced by new work so worth looking in and enjoying the great coffee and cakes available there, ably produced by master cook Dan.

Forgot to say… at Cockermouth Show today and thought I would arrive in the usual fashion. I have had heavier loads on the bike . 🫤
Waiting to set up then Show open from 10 am . Looks to be like a bright forecast after some much needed heavy rain last night . Lots going on . In the Chamber of Trade tent at the rear of the show by the Fitz House. I now have details of autumn textile courses at the Rescue Station and the New DoT gallery in Cockermouth so do drop by if you would like to look them over..

Coming up.. the Cockermouth show this Saturday ! I am going to be in the Cockermouth Chamber of Trade marquee and regardless of the temperatures 🥵🥵🥵will be taking a selection of my hats, scarves and necklaces alongside some cool hand made cards. Also details of the new DoT gallery and my autumn course dates.

As ever Open Sunday at the Old Rescue Station , Brigham CA130XH 11-3 . I am in the wilds of Yorkshire this weekend but back to do the Cockermouth Show nest Saturday. John is holding the fort in Brigham.
My BLUE exhibition is up and running now at the New DoT Gallery in South St, Cockermouth 10-5 for the next move

Well done Wendy and Dan , getting a gallery prepared and ready for opening tomorrow in six weeks is quite an achievement . It will be great to have a solo and joint display space for local artists in Cockermouth and supplements the other arts venues in the town
