VERRUCA NEEDLING
Verruca needling is a specialist treatment that isn't widely available, as only a small number of podiatrists are trained to carry it out.
Anyone who knows me knows I'm a bit of an evidence-based science nerd, so before introducing any new treatment to the clinic, I want to be completely confident it's supported by strong clinical research.
In fact, verruca needling was the focus of my dissertation, meaning I've spent countless hours reviewing the clinical trials, research papers, and evidence behind this technique. It's a treatment I've wanted to offer for a long time, but training opportunities are extremely limited, making it a niche service that isn't commonly available.
**What is verruca needling?**
Unlike creams and surface treatments that only target the outer layers of skin, verruca needling works by stimulating your own immune system to recognise and fight the virus responsible for the verruca. Rather than simply removing the visible lesion, it aims to address the underlying cause.
✨ **Why many clinicians consider verruca needling an excellent treatment option:**
✔️ A specialist procedure offered by relatively few podiatrists
✔️ Supported by clinical research and medical evidence
✔️ High success rates compared with many traditional treatments
✔️ Can be effective when acids, freezing and over-the-counter products have failed
✔️ For many patients, only a single treatment is required
This procedure is carried out following a full clinical assessment and is suitable for adults and older children with long-standing or painful verrucae.
If you've been battling a stubborn verruca without success, verruca needling may be the treatment you've been looking for.
As this is a specialist procedure, I offer a limited number of verruca needling appointments each week, so advance booking is recommended.
