Nobody tells you that wedding dress sizing speaks a completely different language.

Somewhere between the high street and the bridal industry, we began attaching far too much meaning to a number on a label.

Yet the truth is surprisingly simple.

Bridal gowns are made using designer-specific size charts, which often differ significantly from the clothes you wear every day. It’s entirely normal for a bride to order a gown two or even three sizes larger than her usual high street size.

It isn’t a reflection of your body.

It’s simply the way bridal sizing has always worked.
