Intro time!
I’m Louska 👋🏼
So, the idea behind Silk Mary was born out of my frustration with the silk pillowcase market!
I was looking originally for some pillowcases to stock for my clients at The Louska Beauty Clinic
There are ethical options out there thankfully but I still wasn’t thrilled with the options. 🤨
Across all brands, your options are either separately buy pillowcases that don’t match your bedding or anything else. Or get full silk bedding which for many is a sensory no-no 😬
So. I came up with a solution! 💡
I sat on this idea for quite a long time. Never taking action. Until just over week ago when I shared my bright idea with a couple of friends to check if I was really into something, and then got to work!
I’m testing and tweaking things for now while my design gets registered and will share more in due course…
I chose the name Silk Mary after a few days of inventing all sorts of weird and wonderful word combinations to do with sleep, bedding, silk and more. Even some of the most unique sounding were already taken or just didn’t sit right. Then I thought, what if I incorporate my name a little 🤔 At that point I almost instantly thought up Silk Mary!
Mary is my middle name, after my Nannan on my
Mums side. She passed away a couple decades ago but she was my best friend and is still my guardian angel. I checked the name online and couldn’t find a single business using it anywhere!
Boom.
A business is born.
I’m so excited to be getting started with this!
