Sad day we closed the doors permanently on both our Dartmouth and Budleigh shops today

The impacts of covid, paying bounce back loans, rising energy and running costs, cost of living and interest rates affecting peoples spending power, added to the 2 towns not being supported enough by the residents, plus some aweful constant rain until recently have all taken their toll. We know so many other small high street shops and catering businesses are also having an aweful time and suppliers are saying the same

We continue to have our shops in teignmouth Exmouth and Honiton Please please please if u need to buy something do any shopping you can locally and support ur indi businesses. If ur eating out or having coffee support a local cafe not a faceless chain. Don’t let ur towns die - lose it and it’s gone forever

We say goodbye to the lovely Sam, Amy, Debbie, Denise and Julia as a result of the closures. Thanks guys for everything you have done whilst part of our team

We have sad news

We have had to make the difficult decision to close our Dartmouth shop

The high street all over the country is going through a difficult time - and Dartmouth seems to be particularly impacted, with the summer trade not being sufficient to carry the quieter out of season months

It’s proven month on month to be the lowest turnover across our shops. We have an option to end our lease and vacate in May 2024 and have confirmed that this will be when we close Shopdeadgorgeous Dartmouth

We are trading through till then although we are closed most days up to 22nd feb due to annual leave - we will open occasional days through till then and will confirm on here which dates

Thank you everyone who has supported us and been customers of ours - and all the traders and local businesses who have been a great network around us

Our lovely and loyal team member Sam is working though till we close - please be kind to her and don’t ask her too many questions - she’s been an amazing employee and loved by us and our customers. Sam and our other amazing ad hoc team members Lucy and flo are aware of the plan and we are supporting all of them as things change and develop

This doesn’t affect our other shops and you will still be able to shop our ranges plus lots more in our other shops including in teignmouth and Honiton where we have larger ranges of clothing and home/ gift

Thank you thank you thank you everyone who has supported us during December

We don’t under estimate how challenging things are for many people and how budgets are stretched, and it’s truly heartwarming and flattering that so many of you have supported us and our team by shopping with us this Xmas

It really does matter to us and our amazing team - it’s been especially so today, Xmas eve, with so many of our regular and repeat customers and their families popping in for last minute gifts, and saying how much they appreciate us being open

Our team are now off for 3 days - we reopen on the 28th - and Jon and I send them our huge thanks for their hard work and commitment this year and in the Xmas run up

We wish everyone of them and you a peaceful, relaxing and happy Xmas with friends, family, or however you choose to spend the time

No sprouts already on the boil here - hours till that needs to happen

So while you’re waiting for the “start the sprouts” time to arrive you can pop along to shop for your last minute presents, table and cracker gifts, or Xmas outfit

We are open Xmas eve from 9 till 3(ish) depending how many men are still out panic shopping - you know it’s gonna happen ladies
